You need some windows in that cave.

    Permanent screens or no

The doors on my kurbmaster are made of alluminium magnets didn’t work so I used stick on Velcro. Cut a few small pieces glued to door and screen, all corners with a couple in between, I sewed the screen edges over itself when not in use they are rolled up and stored. On my dodge we sewed an...

    Anyone travel with a guitar?

I got one of those Martin small guitars made with a spruce top and arborite top and sides, the neck is made of some kind of lamination. I initially bought it because of it’s size in order to fit in the overhead on planes, and also as space is at a premium in a van, however as I was looking at it...

Minivans-bed behind the driver's or passenger's seat and why?

I think the westfelia design is the best layout for any van including minivans. I got a dodge caravan factory built camper with the double bed on the passenger side. It folds back up into a bench seat for day use, front seats swivel. On left side of van are cupboards stove, fridge, sink. This...

Nomadland Review By A Man Living In A Van

No way if she dies there can’t be Nomadland 3 and I already know that in 3 after she gets out of jail and deported back to the States, she is Vanless broke and missing her French Canadian lover Julie who has since dumped the jealous husband up in Atlin and moved back home to Chibougamau Quebec...

Nomadland Review By A Man Living In A Van

In Nomadland 2 Fern is looking hot in her new red jacket, a new pair of butt hugging levies, her brush cut and new earrings she bought at Teslin native arts shop. She is also often seen in a cool looking beret she finds and cleans up at one of her campsites.

Slept in 2006 Dodge Caravan Minivan WITH Diesel Heater - Nearly Froze

I also think you should get a good sleeping bag I would spend a good amount on one if you plan on being in very cold areas. I have a vented propane heater and I shut it off at night, when I sleep even in below freezing temps, turn it on in the morning it warms up in minutes. I am a big believer...

Nomadland Review By A Man Living In A Van

One of the first stops Fern makes after crossing the border is an accidental drive around Vancouver after getting lost, where she ends up on Spanish banks where another vandweller is replacing a window in his van that works poorly, in the parking lot. They talk she holds something for him then...

    Staking Tents/Canopies in the Deserr

I feel, if the wind picks up enough to possibly pull large pegs I take my canopy down. If it pulls pegs out it can tear eyelets even if the pegs don’t move, so if I see/feel it coming, down it comes the trick is to have something that goes up and down easily. I guess a tent is a different story.

    Essential Attire

Maybe someone has already mentioned this but I find a pair of rubber boots/ gum boots whatever you call them, to be very useful. Slide into them on the way out the door at night over dew soaked grass, on rainy days, on a trip to a public washroom, with or without socks, you can tuck your pijamas...

Nomadland Review By A Man Living In A Van

I just thought Fern meets up again with Bob Wells as he predicted this time Bob is on his way down the highway he stops in at Liard hot springs, it’s dusk no one is around so he is floating on his back naked and Fern comes around the changing sheds and sees him and blushes then gets excited when...

Nomadland Review By A Man Living In A Van

Oh yeah I forgot on the way up the highway she encounters interesting characters that have stories, she gets treed by a grizzly and spends the night there, over the winter in Atlin she slowly befriends a wolf and one night he saves her when she is knocked out by a tree she is felling for fire...

Nomadland Review By A Man Living In A Van

The movie can’t be clear on everything, why does she have a van fully set up, a la van website, complete with ladder rack for stealth, did her and her partner use this van for camping? In my mind she refused offers of housing because she wanted her independence, didn’t want to live with her...

    Cummins Canoe (A Stepvan Story)

You are going to have to be aware of shading from those vents, I understand a partially shaded panel cuts efficiency of whole system substantially, also with fairly small area under the panels with limited air movement i have been told that an overheated panel also cuts the efficiency. However I...

Incident on the land I just bought. At a loss.

Hey I like the donut idea, maybe buy a bunch of donuts drop them off to your new neighbour with a note thanking him for protecting your land and looking out for the neighbourhood, introducing yourself and child and although we got off to a rough start, hope we can be good neighbours.

Nomadland Review By A Man Living In A Van

I don’t think this movie is about vandwelling, I think this movie tells the story of one women who’s life comes down on her after a series of setbacks that she is ill equipped to deal with. Accidentally ends up living in a van. She goes out in search of answers, resolution or to find herself...

Incident on the land I just bought. At a loss.

Maybe you should just talk to the guy ask him why he was so upset. Now that he knows you are legitimate he might apologize offer you a beer and be the best neighbour ever. Or not.

    Nomadland wins

I saw the movie today, I am a big fan of Frances Mc, however the movie I found depressing, lonely, uninspiring, lacking in story line if it was supposed to be fiction and not a documentary, I was confused which it was trying to be. At times especially the RTR bits I found corney. I came away...
