    Hello from SE Arizona

After becoming disabled, not drawing disability or social security and living in my car, luckily I got a camper van! I tell everyone, you need to have a van! I was never afraid living on wheels, I felt like I had a home and I could lock the doors!

The perfect vehicle doesn't cost much

My camper van, Tank, which I mentioned earlier, was big and blue! I lived in it on the streets in Oceanside, California for two and a half years with no problems!

The perfect vehicle doesn't cost much

I need and want to live in a van again, this sounds like a very good one. My Honda Odyssey 2003 is pretty small and there's no way you can stand, even if you're 5'6 like I am. $4,000 in the bank is not nearly enough for one! I certainly wish I had not sold my 89 Chevy G20 Chinook! :-)

I am so thankful that I always have what I absolutely need to survive! I pray that your wife's surgeon and all the people that attend her, are at the top of their game! Praying for quick healing and strength for you, to help her get through it. 🙏

I think for a lot of us, it's not that we don't want to, it's just we have to put the money we have, my social security is $1,300 a month, where we feel the most need. I live in Oceanside, California and support the San Diego humane society. I would absolutely love to have money to spread...

So I may have overdone it with the canned goods, but ...

I wonder the same thing. I know for sure if I lived in a cold place, I would definitely be prepared! Born in Caribou, Maine! :-) I now live in Southern California!

Not quite that doable in a minivan but we can all do our best :-)

Prices for used vans have skyrocketed! Any ideas for buying a used TALL VAN for less?

The problem for these high tops for me, is that they do Honda odysseys, 4th edition and newer mine is a 2003 and they don't make one for that! I'm a 67-year-old female so there is no putting one on myself LOL! I really need one because of the condition of my back but I will use my Odyssey no...

An actual analysis of the cost difference between heating with Propane vs Diesel fuels

I tried the very smallest buddy heater in my camper van and it would come on and in 2 minutes it would be so hot you couldn't stand it, so you would have to turn it off and then you would have to turn it on and then you would have to turn it off! I did get a lot of exercise! Even in a camper van...

Determing my solar power needs/ split from: Keeping warm in sub-freezing weather, using only a tiny amount of fuel for heat.

All this stuff is so confusing to me. I'm just trying to figure out what I need to turn my 2003 Honda Odyssey minivan into a little camper to full time in. When I did this before I had a big camper van, much easier lol I did mean how much the unit costs thank you for answering. From what I've...

    Former Vandweller here

I'm truly sorry to hear about your wife. But it does sound like you've had a lot of wonderful years together! I have lived full time and a camper van and I'm getting ready to convert my little Honda Odyssey to live in full time. I'm an urban camper and I love going through the drive-through! 💜

Introducing myself & why I'm here.

Van City van life is awesome! One of the biggest mistakes that people make is gathering a bunch of stuff that they think they are going to need. Then they just end up getting rid of it later at maybe an RTR. Yeah, that person was me! Much better to start out with minimal basics. You can always...

Stealth Parking in San Diego, CA

It really depends a lot on your rig. I lived in Oceanside California for two and a half years and a big camper van that was blue. I never had any problems. I rotated around to a few different spots and did not arrive in the spot until it was dark. Some of the places were 24-hour fitness, planet...

No, two bags will not hide your poop

Dumping Waste, Bags or Composting Waste

If anyone remembers ever going into a filthy, nasty public bathroom with urine all over the floor, I think you would understand that I would rather use my very clean and sanitized bucket and bag system. I would much prefer my own potty than any other. But that's just me. I have not tried the...
