    Cummins Canoe (A Stepvan Story)

Bummer but it was worth a try. Seems like if you didn't have bad luck, you wouldn't have luck at all. Time to polish it with $100 bills.

How do you carry, if you carry a gun?

There's a big garden hose black market in South Dakota??

Are Push-To-Open drawer slides strong enough for a crash?

I believe they are mostly meant to keep them closed during normal driving conditions and maybe a minor fender bender. It's one of those tests that is probably never done. I've got latches on my cabinets and straps on my fridge and battery but in a serious crash who knows.

    The Box Truck Project

Haven't checked this thread in a while. Plenty of progress on the interior but seems the mechanical side has stopped. Being able to move under your own power is rather important. Just saying, it looks real nice inside but seems like the cart before the horse to me.

Calypso’s Ogygia .. the Odyssey of the P42

Sounds an awful lot like here on the northern frontier of NoDak, more like Fairbanks though. My van needs some loving too but will have to wait another month or so as it's too tall to fit in the shop and up to the windows in snow.. Good luck with the build whenever it can start.

Careful with that table saw Eugene!

Been there done that. Maybe not as bad as yours, only 8 stitches and a missing finger nail. Taught both of my boys carpentry and it was hell to pay when they found out.

The good news is all those problems have been found and fixed. Not saying there might not more but the list has been shortened drastically. Hoping for trouble free travels this year.

Here's hoping it's the cure. Cast iron welding has gotten to be a lost art in this disposable world.

I think the preheating was more for burning off contaminants, oil etc. Only seen it done once and he peened the weld with a ball peen hammer to condense the weld, I'm assuming. With your situation maybe tapping with a body pick hammer. Just my $.02. Good luck. Sent from my SM-T560NU using Tapatalk

It looks strikingly similar to my 86 chev g20 front suspension. Just wondering, does yours change to unibody frame from there on back? Sent from my SM-T560NU using Tapatalk

I don't know about a tab a but my tab e can share to a tv using Smart View. I have a roku box hooked to my tv that allows it but the other brands along with smart tv's might have something similar that is smart view capable. Tap the share tab for your file and there should be a listing for smart...

Seems like the drama has subsided in the mean time, knock on wood. Nice to be able to see some of the world instead if the undercarriage of a Grumman. Here's hoping your tools get back to rusting again. Its nice to read about your travels and your exceptional shadetree abilities but I'm glad you...

Looking for help on evaluating the condition of fiberglass high top on my Chevy G20

I used Henry tropicool roof coating on mine. I bought it a Home Depot for around $50 per gallon and put on two coats. I scuffed it real good with 100 grit sandpaper for good adhesion before painting. Its been on for 6 years and has lost its sheen but is holding up real well. It took about a week...
