    Info On Common Minivans

You got it, I'm in the "new" S&B, but it's a 200 yr old house, hand made adobes. I think that kicks it up a notch over modern S&B's  . Yes, I will be part timing in the 05 minivan. I need a solar system appropriate for a part timer who will travel 2 months here, 3 months there, and...

Women Only: Safety on the road - sexual assault

Exactly. I understand the issue pretty well. Blame & shame. And also, many women tend to bury horrible experiences so deep that the memories barely surface. But that doesn't mean the experience isn't creating an influence every single day. If something triggers the memory of a really bad...

Women Only: Safety on the road - sexual assault

This is an important thread. I read that 1 of every 3 women in the US is raped. That could be a higher number since many cases go unreported. I want to thank those of you who had the courage to share your stories. I have a lot of close lady friends who never discuss this subject, which is a...

    Bear safety?

My old stomping grounds. Traveled there long before Billings got so darned big and ugly. Used to sit on the Rimrock at the airport and look over the town, imagining feathered headdresses and roaming herds. Spent lots of time in Cody, Wapiti, Paradise Valley. Will be great when my van build is...

    Bear safety?

After seeing that pic I'm going. Friends live near Red Lodge. I take Canadian snow boots and winter gear when I head to WY/MT in summer. Good reminder re July/Aug travel dates on the Beartooth. I got myself into a pickle one year in the Big Horns en route to the Medicine Wheel at 10k. Was...

    Bear safety?

That's my point of view. Never had feverish fear of bears, just use common sense. Been through Ystone dozens of times, my fave National Park. Only entrance I have not used is the Beartooth. Now that I see that spectacular photo I'll make sure to take that route next time I'm there. My closest...

    Bear safety?

Hmmm, never heard of the bear claws through the crack in the window issue before. Glad DuneElliot brought it up.  That means if you're being cautious you don't crack the windows at all, no heating or cooking indoors.  Something to consider...and that was one mighty big bear!

    Bear safety?

Mount Lemmon!    I lived there, up top at 8k feet elevation in Summerhaven, 44 yrs ago before fires and realtors hit. It was such a great place then, Catalina Mtn Range, loved it. Didn't know lions like bread. Yes, we humans are the cause of predator problems. Wilderness teacher say: if...

    Bear safety?

Great story. That's what I would do too. Love those Cinnamon bears. I saw one that was golden color with fur a foot long. That was in early June, after that winter so heavy the plows had nowhere to push the snow in Ystone (2011 maybe.) Tried to post that bear pic to the forum but it wouldn't...

    Bear safety?

Like windows open an inch with rain guards??? Important to know. I never worried about bears in my early camping days in WY/MT. Followed bear tracks in the dust down the wilderness (not gov't land) road back to my car at the Crow Rez in MT. Did wonder if a bear was peering at me through the...

Spiff, Thanks for your very clear step by step list on how to upload photos to the forum. Great reference for when I want to post pics in future.

    Dear Photobucket, Rot in Hell

Thanks, Spiff. Not a Mac user, so didn't recognize "Sierra". Have Photoshop, should be able to do something similar. On social media I do a direct upload from my documents. Quick & EZ. Tried to upload photos here last week. When they wouldn't load I thought they must be too big. Didn't...
