    Find vandweller for my property

Hello Mike, interested in the area you chose to settle. We were looking for land not long ago around Galax which sounds like the same region as you are. Traveling east soon to visit family in Virginia Beach. Presently in Salton Sea area. Would like to stop by for a couple nights and see what you...

Ride share from NW to Quartzsite/Yuma soon?

I am wondering if there is anyone going from the Interstate 5 corridor in the NW to the Quartzsite/ Yuma area. I left my rig at the LTVA at Imperial Dam a couple of weeks ago and got a ride to the Eugene area for the holidays. Looking at options to get back to the region. Just close to it. I can...

Need advice on long distance RV purchase

Thanks Ranger! I just came up with a plan to drive to the RV park near Elkton, OR and leave my truck and truck camper.  I just found out I can rent a 3/4 or 1 ton truck in Eugene for a week for $700. I will line up a few of the rigs to look at and do my own inspection. I will be ready to tow it...

Need advice on long distance RV purchase

I agree on the RV inspector. We did it previously and it worked out fine. We bought the camper, they held it, we insured it, and we eventually picked it up. That also guarantees that the seller is the actual owner I would think.

Need advice on long distance RV purchase

Actually, we did have a reputable RV inspector check it out for us prior to purchase and we also got insurance on  it while it was sitting there waiting for us to pick it up.

Need advice on long distance RV purchase

I know it's a seller's market right now. This actual model is not common for sale used. The NW only has one I can find and it's overpriced. What about hiring an inspection first as it sits?

Need advice on long distance RV purchase

Thanks for the feedback. I would understand his trepidation also. How about hiring an RV inspector to look it over prior to any money changing hands? I am 1000 miles from my Oregon destination still. Do you know if Uhaul or anyone else would have rentals for towing so that I could just tow it...

Need advice on long distance RV purchase

Thanks for the feedback. We actually did buy the truck camper we have used for 3 and a half years sight unseen in 2017. It was in Wenachee, WA and we were still near Albany, NY getting ready to go full time. It worked out well in that instance. Maybe we were lucky?

Need advice on long distance RV purchase

We are looking to purchase an RV from a private seller near Midland Texas. He purchased it for an oil engineering job there and now does not need it. It is a lightly used 2019 Grand Design Reflection 315 RLTS. We are placing it on a lot in Elkton, Oregon for now. I am currently in Beatty, NV and...

    Renting/Leasing an RV camping site

Probably more a year round renal/lease arrangement, but we may leave it to come south for a bit in the winter. Thanks for reminding me of the national organizations and their possibilities.

    Buying Cheap Land?

I have been looking for land the last 3 months in Oregon and the prices are skyrocketing due to California's problems. I have basically given up that idea and instead looking for some land to lease or rent off someone else, even if it is just a larger parking area for the rig. I am also looking...

    the tyranny of rent

And I agree that in many cases, the cost of shelter is high in America. But your situation doesn't really address the problem. It goes back to bad choices, which is the source of many of the problems, but certainly not all of them.

    the tyranny of rent

So you don't like housework and you don't like yard work, but you buy a house anyway that you can't really afford? I don't quite understand your frustrations. Seems like your choices need to be scrutinized more thoroughly.

    Oregon coast

Just got back after a week near Cape Perpetua just south of Yachats. Camped 4 nights at Neptune day use area and 2 nights at Cummins Creek trailhead on FS road 1055. Also spent last night at Muiel Posler day area. Never got bothered once. Not very heavily patrolled in that region.

    Pirate Camp....a build opportunity

I was thinking it might be great to hold an informal event at Shea Rd. Around the same time as last year's vanbuild. Any thoughts? What you are talking about would fit right in perfectly there.
