how to secure everything in a rental van for rtr...

TY.......... bins sound good.... i was, or will still, put in some bookshelves... but then stuff will fall out... i was going to somehow cover the front of it, but for this trip, that seems a little overkill. maybe just one shelf... maybe it'll be my kitchen. how high do people stack bins?? i...

thanks so much, everyone...... lots of good suggestions! i'll think about smaller rims. will consider a high lift conversion. sounds like letting air out of the tires will only buy me a couple inches.. but gtk. i would leave the van in my garage and take it out when i hit the open road...

ok to release air from tire to fit van in garage?

hi all hopefully the dilemma is about to end...in time for the rtr????? i want to get a chevy van, 2018 or 2017...... long story short: chevy's height measurement for van is 85". i measured a 2018 van, and i measured it at 81 1/2" at the rear roof... actually, that is probably wrong, since i...

bought first propane tank, they say valve is bad

thanks, guys.... i'll try another place.... this is a flame king, 11 gal, not sure if i mentioned that... it's got an overflow protection device... i can see if that's stuck in the 'no more propane' position, where that might be the problem. i saw this opd described on a YT video...  but i'll...

bought first propane tank, they say valve is bad

hi all newbie to propane.... i bought a flameking 11lb new tank, and took it to a gas station near me that fills propane. he 'purged' it...i guess . ... by unscrewing a little screw in the valve. he called that purging. then he opened a lever to put propane in my tank. no propane goes in. he...

thinking of buying 93 ford econoline 2500

it'll be my first van............. decided to try an older model, so it'd be easier to maintain, and cheaper to purchase ($2500). the guy says it's in good shape, no leaks, one owner, 205,000 miles. i know it's not an 8 cylinder, although it's a 2500 with a really good engine. (according to the...

buy used van from dealer or owner?

what kind of mpg can i expect from a 3/4 ton, which i assume is a v8......? and for CV's --- it seems like people like Chevy Express? btw, i'm not planning on full timing it........ but it would be nice to have 2 week trips, or longer......... thanks! good travels...............

buy used van from dealer or owner?

thanks everyone for your opinions........... i'll look at the 3/4 tons......... since i'm concerned about the lack of access to a modern engine in a cargo van --------- should i check out nv2500's? i am not currently thinking of pre 2000 vehicles, which are much simpler. yes, i prefer fuel...

buy used van from dealer or owner?

thanks, gtk.... yes, it seems like private owners might offer more variable prices. i have read about buyers being robbed of $$... undoubtedly best to steer clear of dubious characters........

buy used van from dealer or owner?

i'm having a hard time thinking of a v8, when i can't recall when i've had a v6.....  do you know what your stuff weighs, excluding your van?  should i start a spread sheet of the stuff i want to put in my van? i'd have to guess-timate the buld out....  it's just probably going to be shelves...

buy used van from dealer or owner?

my build out, i think, will be pretty basic (he said.........). there'll be a floor...... at the start, just insulation? on the walls... it'll look... not that great... what a picture... i think it will be simple, so maybe a 1500 would work? i will have a fridge and or freezer... and food... and...
