anyone happy with their dokio portable panels? i'm not...

i've been charging with an epever controller... at my stix and brix, so i got tools, good spot to place my panels, it's really stable. with the controller, it never goes above 7 or so amps. i should say the epever lists current for battery and panel on its display --- i really don't no which...

anyone happy with their dokio portable panels? i'm not...

no plastic film on them... we do have some haze here, from fires in the sierras.., but i've been taking some readings for the past week or two. i'm just trying to find the maximum current coming from those panels by shorting the panel terminals, getting a reading with a dc clamp meter... thus...

"200 watts" of solar doesn't seem to generate anywhere near 200W, is this just normal

i just started a thread on an almost identical query... mine is under dokio...not happy with 'em. i shorted my panels, in full sun, and took readings with my MM and inductive clamp meter.... i'm a newbie at this, so whatever i do is.. worth a grain of salt???  anyway, to my newbie way of...

anyone happy with their dokio portable panels? i'm not...

so i've got my dokios set up, pointed south, optimal for the 1pm sun here in the bay area, angle is about 30 degrees, so pretty perpendicular to sun.. maybe i'm a little off. i never get more than 6 to 8 amps off the 300 w panels... i'm shorting them, taking current readings from that, to...

    Safe? Yes, the box!

cars and vans are so easy to bust into.............. you could consider having a couple or three hiding spots... depending on how paranoid you are, you could have honey pots... in cojmputers, that's somethign you leave out for people to bust into. i am pretty concerned about all the expensive...

how we secured the rear of my chevy express

my friend helped me out a lot... ihe's able to work a lot with metal, wood,... i'm not that handy that way... i have a chevy express, no windows in the cargo area, and i put in a bulkhead partition for security. but personally, i guess i'm worried about people busting in to the cargo area with...

u guys prob no a lot more than me... i been trying to get 'up to speed' watching these guys... wondered where you guys are getting your intel.. they had one video on whether to upgrade to 5g now, or later (in a year, when the technology is stable, and manufacturing has caught up).. they seemed...

Current WiFi mobile hotspot April 2021?

i was in wyoming awhile ago --- five years? everyone's verizon seemed good. my tmobile was absent. but i 'hear' that tmobile is upping their game, with 5g coming, and i guess their merger with sprint. i think tmobile has discontinued their 100G prepaid data offer --- however, i get all these...

Mobile Internet Resource Center -- do folks use and/or like this?

yeah, they seem on top of the 'deals' which are generally grandfathered in as plans change. i'm more impressed with their knowledge of all the hardware and strategies to get good internet. it just seems to me i gotta get pretty educated on all the material dealing with cell and data signals...

Tips for cargo van door locks

did anyone mention a battery cut off switch? i'd like to put one on my van. it might have prevented the perps from stealing my van (instead they stole the catalytic and busted the ignition --- who said thieves don't have good senses of humor.... ). but also, a cutoff would prevent drain on the...

The best internet and cell phone coverage?

i've had their plan for a year. it works, but it's awful slow.... i can barely run one pc on it. i ran a speedtest on it - it was abysmal. afaict, pc's for people is definitely cheap and i guess unlimited, but it's always slow or super slow...  if it were not cheap, i definitely would not be...

    cooling layer for my bed??

ty van fan....  so far, the latex seems very good.... kind of pricey, but i needed something for a good night's sleep. it seems to fit the bill.  and if one of my two thermarests pops a leak, i'll just replace that layer, but it won't be a sudden disaster, with my latex on top. i'm using 3"

Speaker Wires+Heat Shrink Tubing as Solar Wires?

personally, i'd spend the money and try to do a propery wiring job on the outside of the vehicle. there's rain, sun, wind, vibration... it'll break down bad wiring and be hard to constantly check --- (uh, i do not have experience in this, btw).  i'd consider scrimping on interior wiring... it'll...
