Advice please on used Centennial DC8D batteries

@Sabatical ~ Yes, I plan to be at RTR. I want to bring my supplies and get some help there. I am a hands-on learner, too. @Jimindenver ~ I agree and did not buy the used battery. I am picking up two new T-105's. Tried and true and I'll have confidence in them. Ok, I am going to start a new...

Advice please on used Centennial DC8D batteries

Yes, thanks, SW, if I'm going w/new I want 2-6v golf cart full-on deep cycle, for those reasons. Digging into the cash stash. My van plan included 12 3/4" height under bed #2 in case I didn't go w/AGM's that could be laid on their sides, so I should be good to go w/flooded. I will start a new...

    Hello from Texas

Joyce, I just realized I should have qualified my comment by saying I'm not in my van full-time. That makes a difference, I'm sure, in how what I said might be received. Sassy

Advice please on used Centennial DC8D batteries

Ok, MANY thanks, guys. I've read battery 101 til my brain fried and forgot it all, but you have reminded me why I've not bought used batteries. I will feel better with a new battery and a warranty, and I have finally made a decision to get flooded and do the maintenance. They will be in a...

    Hello from Texas

Hi Joyce, nice to meetcha. 2 years ago this Feb I bought myself a Valentine's present -- 2002 E350. I love it so much if I could wrap my arms around it and give it a big hug I would. Built in some simple stuff (Sassypickins Van) and it's been my little slice of heaven ever since. I hope you...

Advice please on used Centennial DC8D batteries

I am considering buying one of two used batteries to use as my first house battery to use and probably abuse until I feel ready to graduate to new, insanely expensive ones. They are 12v Centennial DC8D's and though I could not find this particular one listed, with 1500 cca it is likely around...

Can't find a throttle cable for my van anywhere

I don't know where you can get one, but is there any chance you can McGyver it? The time my old stepvan's accelerator cable busted on the road to Chaco Canyon, I replaced it with my strongest cello string and a couple of big paper clips.

    perfect road trip?

gingerperth, your adventures sound wonderful and I would love to hear more stories. I haven't been to Australia but I've read every word and followed every turn of the wrench and rolling of the tires with Rob Gray and Wothehellizat.

    Advice? Reassurance?

What Bob said about those little fleece blankets! We stayed quite cozy using those in that way in last year's 15 degree weather coming down from Portland. And don't you know how oftentimes it's the little things that are the most appreciated... it was so pleasing to be able to turn on the Mr...
