    Happy July 4

Yep. Any time you hear yourself saying "Hold my beer and watch this" would be a good time to remind yourself how expensive a trip to the ER is.

    Weird Under Carriage on RV

I have that panel type stuff under my 5th wheel. When work needed to be done underneath someone cut a three sided square. Taped it back up when finished.

Thanks HDR, Mr Noodly, Mrcap and Weight. Those all sound excellent and I'm sure I'll be picking out one from those.

    Well

Hi back at ya. I hope you and the fur babies are well. Have you picked out a good spot to stay at during any fireworks? I'm still in a S&B and last night the dogs went crazy over nearby booms.

I'm Relocating the Battery Box and Need to Know What Part to Buy

Need a little help.  I bought a van with a battery charged by an isolator and extension cord.  I am adding solar and will be switching the isolator with a solenoid, but that isn't my question.  Here is the view of the area under the bed where sits one large house battery 12v.  Because there is...

Sequoia Nat Forest areas closed to dispersed camping

People are so used to having toilets anywhere they go that its easy to forget to plan for pottying when on public lands. I wish the park service would start an educational campaign reminding people to pack trash bags and some sort of potty setup before they hit public lands. And remind them to...

My water pump quit working and I can't drain water tank

Again thanks HDR. I was able to lift the drain valve which I needed to use when the pump quit working. It drained at snail speed but at least it drained. dDJ I will take it apart and see if that is what stopped it from working. sure would like to save money by putting it back in.

My water pump quit working and I can't drain water tank

Yes, I definitely need a cutoff and a filter before the pump.

My water pump quit working and I can't drain water tank

I'll do that. Your are saying there may be a filter / screen in front of the pump? I'll check that after I get the water out. Thx.

My water pump quit working and I can't drain water tank

I filled then emptied the 9 gallon tank in a series of pumps because it took 5 minutes.  It worked fine then.  I filled it with fresh water and added bleach.  Let it sit for a day.  When I tried to pump it out it worked for one second then quit.  I've checked the fuses.  I've reset the...

Just moved into my van. Stuck in south Texas. Need advice

If you head to Cloudcroft, NM be sure to grocery shop, water fill and fuel up before. Dump your trash too because FS removed the bear proof trashcans at all the campgrounds. No phone service in much of the forest. Lincoln National Forest is a tinderbox although its looking like rain in a...

    Removing armrests from captain's chairs

I took one out a couple weeks ago after watching a couple yt videos. I had to swing it almost vertical and then shoved and pulled moving it slightly higher each time and it popped out. Theres very little room for that perfect alignment. Had to really manhandle it. The handle i was taking out...

    Safety Question

I just spent three months in my fifth wheel. The windows are five feet off the ground. I would break my neck getting out of any of them. If I didn't die, I'd have to go to the hospital to patch up all the missing skin I'd lose as I slid over the frame. Having someone lock you in to the rv...
