Women Only: Finally my solar is hooked up

Unfortunately, I seem to be losing a volt overnight even when I'm not in the van. I've pulled all the fuses and will be replacing one at a time until I find the problem.

    Good morning

Hey Dean. Are the tornadoes worse than the cold?

    Women Only: Lost my mind

I left my dysfunctional family years ago. I make short visits back to see the ones I like. Now that i have solar power in the van I can visit then wander around before heading home.

Women Only: Finally my solar is hooked up

I've got a conversion van 12 v, single battery setup powered by shore power and battery isolator. For the last months, weeks I've been planning, installing 12v 200 watt Renogy solar hampered by me not really knowing what I was doing and existing wire without labels or sizes imprinted on the...

That's enough to make me shake out my shoes every morning.

    fire proofing a table top

Tiling the top of the table sounds wonderful but I'm concerned about the added weight. Not the spring chicken I once was. I think I'm now going to go with getting a table and laying aluminum foil underneath to catch juices and just see what kind of heat it generates.

    fire proofing a table top

Thanks. Some stuff I hadn't thought of. I expect a considerable amount of heat coming out of the bottom of the grill. Maybe a cookie sheet with small holes drilled on the sides so air can circulate, laid upside down. Screw it to the table.

    fire proofing a table top

After struggling to keep a portable grill on a GCI aluminum camp table in a primitive area without picnic tables, I realize I need to get a bigger table.  Big enough for a small grill, a propane stove, a water cooler and cooking utensils.  That I can do hobbies on as well.  I'd like to get at...

    Adapting to the heat

I just finished a weekend at 9000 feet in New Mexico. At one point the shade moved from over the van. The inside temp said 90; the outside 99. I took the fresh water sprayer and misted my arms, legs, neck and face. Dog got the whole body spray and she wiggled with joy. It felt awesome...

    Assistance with Buildout in NC

I also no longer want to lift a full sheet of plywood. I've been buying quarter sheets to build cabinets. Almost There, your idea of letting the hardware store employee slide the full sheet into place is genius. If you can find an Industrial Arts or Technology program nearby you can hire...

    Smoke in the High Sierra

Thinning out forests and clearing underbrush is very expensive.  With their budget cuts they can do only so much.

Deciding if I should keep my Class C

I bought a high top van with a sloping roof. Would love to have a big, flat surface for solar. Said van cannot get me to gnarly places due to low underside. If you get a truck to pull it you can put on a camper shell and organize all your sporting stuff inside and even overhead room for water...

    It got SO hot ...

After over a month of above 100 degrees, we finally got a very nice rain yesterday. Today the humidity is so high I have yet to venture out.

    Cooling Vest

I wore a cooling vest under my moto jacket. When it got really hot we soaked them in ice water.
