    Can you de-computerize newer vehicles?

So I've heard.  Perhaps a higher price is equaled out by more mileage, and longer engine life too?

    Can you de-computerize newer vehicles?

TX Smitty, I think the old beast deserves the best fuel, to keep him going. :D  I'll check the price difference.

    Can you de-computerize newer vehicles?

On a 1989 Econoline 350, would it be better to use gasoline w/o ethanol?

    Methuselah Remodel

No,I didn't fo look at REX yet.  Yesterday was under the weather, today it's rainy.  When making big decisions, I like to feel my best. :D  Meanwhile, I'm concerned about REX's roof.  I believe it was Mike, who said it appears to be rubber.  <a...

    Methuselah Remodel

Hi Angie,  Yes, Ruby's mechanic is less than a mile from the dealer. When I go to look at REX, and if I feel positive about him, I'll ask the mechanic to look him over.  If need be, I can put a small deposit down to hold the rig.  Perhaps there was a reason the Greybeart/Methuselah deal fell...

    Methuselah Remodel

TX Mike.  Is a rubberized roof considered long-lasting?  Is it strong enough to walk on? I've been through a leaky class C roof before. So do you think the model is good?  I mean if all systems are working?  Dealer states it starts and runs well.  At that low mileage, seems it should last a while.

    Methuselah Remodel

I've mulled it over (yumm, mulled cider season is upon us.), I think REX would be a good insurance policy in the event I lose the house.  The catalytic heater I had planned for Ruby would be a good emergency heater for REX w/o electric.  It could be transferred to Ruby if REX needed repairs...

    Methuselah Remodel

Could this be the replacement for Greybeard? 1989 with just 33k miles.  Econoline 350 Wonder what that white surface on the roof is made of, and the gizmo in the center?? Should I go this large?  Well, if I can't heat the house, I can take off in "REX." :D

    AGM or LiFePo4?

Anh, What numbers should I be looking for?  The system is not just for Ruby.  I need to be able to run an oil boiler when the electric goes down.  The electric kettle I'd like is 1500w

    Methuselah Remodel

I need a power system in the SUV to run a electric water kettle, and my boiler when power goes down,  I'm waiting to hear from my HVAC man as to how much power I need.  Of course a smaller amount would be needed if I fired up the wood-coal furnace, because only the water pump would need power. I...

    AGM or LiFePo4?

Would this be a good battery to use in my SUV to set up for house-type plugins? https://www.amazon.com/EarthX-ETX12A-Management-Performance-Longevity/dp/B00AWQ6YW0/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1538508806&sr=8-10&keywords=LiFePo4+battery or would this SYSTEM be better...

    Sophia's Hauler...

Dan'l, I suspect the "lazy" could be the "pondering" you mentioned.  As an obvious inventor, it takes a lot to just think and plan.  Any way to actually clear your mind when you're supposed to be relaxing?  Multi Vitamins? A good smack?

    Sophia's Hauler...

Hi Dan'l,  Just read thru your thread to this point, and learned a lot.  Seeing the photo of the windshield protector, that wraps past the front door windows, can you say where you got it? Thanks.  My house boss is named Sophia also. Pic on Methuselah thread.

Best route to Harrisburg or Reading PA from Central Florida?

I consider it a little, some may not :D  I'm a bit into NYS.  I'm concerned for the trees here.  The leaves seem to be just dying.  Never seen it happen, and I AM OLD.  What is your departure date, I'd like to follow your course. Max (Sophia is smart, but she can't read  )

Best route to Harrisburg or Reading PA from Central Florida?

Nice quote from Robert Browning on that site... "I trust in nature for the stable laws of beauty and utility. Spring shall plant and autumn garner to the end of time." Seems he knew his Bible.

Best route to Harrisburg or Reading PA from Central Florida?

Will you be in the east long enough to enjoy the fall colors? I'm just north of your destination, and we haven't even begun to show color.

How to find a van on a budget?

Hi Mike, It was many decades ago that I drove for an auto auction.  According to your post, CA has done the right thing.  I wonder how many other states followed.  Guess checking on laws where your auction is taking place, is the way. :)

Best route to Harrisburg or Reading PA from Central Florida?

A Pleasure Trip sounds much better than a direct route trying to avoid disaster areas, pam. Could you wiggle your way a bit west, past storm damaged areas, travel north, then east to your destination?  If necessary, for lack of desired highway types, you could even travel further north (above...
