How do you join a tribe/or group

Bob Wells just put up a video about starting groups around the country where they gather new people with the veterans of van dwelling to teach them the ropes. Might check into that whether a newbie or vet... Good luck and maybe we'll run into each other sometime or if in RI let me know.

Are you really happy as a nomad?

I'm sure its an adventure and that's a good way to look at it. As far as a stage in life I'm hoping its the last stage.?

Are you really happy as a nomad?

Thanks for all the responses so far. I've been following many different blogs, vlogs, etc for at least 2 years as I mull over a nomadic life. I'm on the cusp of taking the leap. Things have alligned for me as best they can in terms of family responsibilities, timing, and means to reach...

Are you really happy as a nomad?

It appears most people who post on youtube and other forums are exceedingly happy with the life. What say you? Do you think most are pleased with the choice or that there are a significant number of people who think they made a bad choice.

Older fulltimers... do you value intimacy less as you get older?

When I was young the hormones were raging and I would run around like a dog with 3 balls. After college I settled down and married but had not yet come all the way out of the testosterone fog. So I missed a few important aspects of what makes a good choice of a mate and the marriage failed. So...

    Looking at a F150 4x4 supercrew cab

I don't know how they can live out of a prius without going mad but some do. Especially when it rains for days, it must be tough to sit in a tight space trying to do any daily activities like cooking, eating, etc.

    Looking at a F150 4x4 supercrew cab

I'm 5'9" and tried the back and it fits me as well. The back is really roomy. I put the back seats up and the front passenger seat forward and have enough room to lay out without having to bend knees or anything like that. Good to know you find it easy to live out of for weeks at a time because...

    Looking at a F150 4x4 supercrew cab

Using the cab to live out of while storing most of my stuff in the bed that has a locking tonneau cover. Then I plan on swapping the cover out for a topper and building the bed out as a living and storage area.

    Looking at a F150 4x4 supercrew cab

Thinking about building out one of these but have no idea what others who've lived out of one of these thinks about the advantages vs disadvantages. Any thoughts would be a big help and greatly appreciated.

Anyone else nervous about quitting a perfectly good job (by society's standards)

I look at it pragmatically. I don't plan on buying health insurance. I'll just show up at hospitals that have to help the indigent. If it turns out to be cancer or worse I'll commit a minor federal crime plead guilty and get healthcare from the system. If it's terminal I'll make an exit bag and...

What about vans from a University Maintenance Dept?

Any opinions about low mileage older vans used by Universties? There's a few E250s in the 2005 - 2008 year models coming up on the market that have 38k to 70k mileage so they haven't seen much highway driving. I already have seen them before being reconditioned and theres no rust, just some...

Opinion appreciated on living out of a F150

Have an opportunity to get a Ford lariat. It's in great condition and low mileage. But what I'm looking for is input about living out of it in the following way or even better ideas.  It has the super crew cab so if I take out the front passenger seat and put a platform in from front to back it...

    License Plate Surveilance

I would suspect most couldn't disappear simply because they wouldn't know how to get by without a cellphone, credit cards, computer, etc. Frankly, the best way for those who need to disappear is to buy someone else's information and SS#  online and just start using it. The system is so slow and...

For me, the only thing I have to do is go to airplane mode and that's it.

    License Plate Surveilance

Smiles ruin the measurements of cheek bones etc. Most think it's a system that matches the face but it actually uses a set of parameters and I've heard they may be able to read retinal scans from a distance.

    License Plate Surveilance

Have to agree with GotSmart. If you're not doing anything illegal then there's nothing to worry about. If you need to evade surveillance then just start by getting rid of your electronics and go old school Stone age. Change your patterns too because they can predict where you're most likely to...

How long of a life is long enough?

Personally, I feel no despair but just tend to look at things differently than most. Death may be as I said relief but it is still worth the effort to live as long as you're living a good life.
