    Batteries in a small van

Great, I'll check that one out.. Battleborn said they would like to keep the charging amps under 50, for a single 100ah battery, for battery life. If I do 2 batteries, then 60 amps would be well within the limits, and not fry my alternator. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Batteries in a small van

Ok... I guess he was thinking that the lithium battery might pull too many amps while charging, and damage the alternator. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Batteries in a small van

I spoke with the guy at sterling power, and he recommended this. http://www.sterling-power-usa.com/proconnect-cvsr70amp12vor24v.aspx He said that the multiple charging steps that lead acid batteries needed, weren't needed for the lithiums. Hopefully this might be the solution, for charging...

    Styrofoam beads

Yepp... I'll stuff the holes with that, and polyiso on all the panels I can cover Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Styrofoam beads

I definitely don't want to use spray foam, and packing peanuts would leave too many voids Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Batteries in a small van

Ok.. I spoke with promariner tech support, and they said there stuff was preset, and not adjustable. I'll see what I can find out with sterling. Thank you Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Batteries in a small van

I'll keep that in mind, going to call balmar in the morning, and see if one of their voltage regulators will work with my set up Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Batteries in a small van

And I thought the lithium batteries still had to go to 14.2 for bulk/absorption charge for some reason Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Batteries in a small van

Ok, so what can install between the starter battery, and the lithium battery bank, to stop it from going over 13.8 volts, but still get a decent amount of amps while driving? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Batteries in a small van

It's a Ram promaster city, 160 Amp alternator. In thinking that I'm making this too complicated, I called battleborn, to see if I could just hook their lithium battery up to my charging system with an automatic isolator, and they said that was fine. I'm guessing that the BMS will cut it off...

    Batteries in a small van

I'm thinking, that I need something to protect the house battery bank from overcharging by the alternator, while I'm driving down the road. If I have a lead starter battery up front, and a lithium (or agm, that has specific charge voltages) battery in the back, then I'm not sure how a automatic...

    Batteries in a small van

Very true... The battery monitor I'm looking at (nasa clipper bm-2) is almost 200 dollars. I called blue sea, and spoke with them about the ml-acr. Apparently there is not voltage adjustments in it, and he recommended a proisocharger from promariner. I'm waiting for a call back from their tech...

    Batteries in a small van

Thanks John... Reading about the blue sea product right now. I worked in an auto shop for a number of years, and one of my jobs was charging batteries, to test their condition. I've been around them enough, to know that I don't want the vapors in such a small living space. Trying to...

    Styrofoam beads

Thanks John, I will check that out as well... Seems like a better value then thinsulate Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Styrofoam beads

I hadn't thought about the static electricity. I think the packing peanuts would be too big, to fit in the little spaces, and allow too much airspace in the walls. I'm trying to think if there is another small material that would fill in the space, and not collect moisture from the air Sent...

    Styrofoam beads

I have a small cargo van (unibody construction) with lots of hollow open spaces in the back. I plan on using polyiso foam board, wherever I can find a flat place glue it. My question is, would filling up those voids with styrofoam beads be a good idea? I know the spray foam is a bad idea, and...

    Batteries in a small van

The budget isn't an issue right now, I'll be staying in the van for work (instead of renting an overpriced apartment or bedroom from someone) I've been researching different battery types, but FLA is out of the question. Battleborn lithium batteries would be my first choice, next would be the...
