Yes! Same family [Cupressaceae] as Redwoods, but specifically in the [sole surviving] genus and species known as Sequoia giganteum. Here's the Wikipedia post if you're interested: Sequoiadendron giganteum - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequoiadendron_giganteum "Sequoiadendron...

    My Path to (No)Madness!

...and, there are photos of some trees that are growing up on the hill behind my dad's house.  I hiked up with the dogs a couple of days ago to capture a few frames of these trees.  They've been here since I was a kid.  The local forest rangers used to deny that they are what we think they are...

    My Path to (No)Madness!

Hmmm ... I'm wondering if I am making things too rigid by gluing and screwing all of the joints together ... maybe I should leave things more flexible ... ?  Too late to go back now, I guess ... pressing on! :) The main take away for me is that I am learning TONS ... and that's always good!

One wall has been insulated. About 3/4 of that wall has been paneled ... all of which will be behind enclosed shelves.  I'm not focusing a lot on aesthetics ... just trying to make it functional and durable so I can get done and out on the road. :)

    Aluminum vs Copper Wire

Yah, I like efficiency, too.  4 AWG is over kill, but has a lower resistance ... less loss, more safety, as you say.  I am a little worried that it might not fit in the BlueSky terminals.  But, it has 4 gauge listed in the manual ... so, it ought to ... ?

    Aluminum vs Copper Wire

Any feedback on the merits / detractors of using stranded copper plated aluminum over 100% copper wire for the cables leading from the solar panels to the Charge Controller to the Batteries?  3X 100W Renogy mono panels, BlueSky 3000i CC, 2X cheap Universal AGM 100Ah batteries.  I'll be using AWG...

    My Path to (No)Madness!

Made some headway yesterday and today. Insulated one wall. Paneled 3/4 of the insulated wall. Completed some reinforcements to the pod framing. Settled on a design and began fabrication of the pod's sleeping position supports. Trip to Rim Forest Hardware to get misc. fasteners and the...
