Postmates For Living On The Road?

Just throwing a money making idea out there in case others need to make money while on the road. I do drive an E150 with a 300 Straight 6 and an AOD transmission. USAA offers "ride share gap" insurance that is pretty cheap. I pay just over $50/month total. As for gas, I make more than I spend...

Postmates For Living On The Road?

Has anyone tried postmates? I have been hanging out in Florida only so far, but if I roll into a city that has postmates I just turn on the app and I can start taking orders. Door dash, waitr, bitesquad et al do not allow that You have to set a city and a schedule.

Is AAA worth it for towing protection?

I have a AAA premier membership. IMO, it is not worth the cost. I just added roadside assistance to my insurance for about 1/8 the cost of AAA. Also, AAA pays their providers the least of any of the roadside assistance companies. As you can imagine, that puts your call pretty low on the totem...

How is a hearse different from a station wagon for living purposes?

    Can You Help

It it is just a small hole, it can be welded closed with a clothes hanger as the "filler material" or "welding rod". We used to do that all the time. You need an Oxy-Acetylene torch. I don't know if MAPP gas would work or not, never tried it.

And the manifold gaskets to insure proper fit. Some vehicles also have a "little silver donut" to seal the exhaust pipes to the manifolds. Make sure that is installed properly if your car has them.

    Urine disposal method

Same here. I have saved up a couple gatorade bottles and I planned to dump in the toilet at gas stations and the like. I have a 5 gal bucket for #2, but don't want to waste it for just urine.

    The adventure begins

LOL, where in Florida do you get "winter"? I have lived from Pensacola/Destin/Panama City down to Melbourne and only seen snow 3 times in 20 years. It never lasted long. ;)

    Van Dwelling in Florida

15 minutes? Ok cool. Having the screens on the outside, aren't you worried that someone might snatch them off while you sleep? I am planning to boondock at Wal-Marts and the like as I roam around Florida. So, would't stealth also be out the window? I was thinking about just cracking the windows...

    Van Dwelling in Florida

I don't see anyway to edit posts. I did find some louvers for the van, but at $120-$150 a pair, they fail the CBA(cost benefit analysis) test IMO. I was already planning on re-purposing some curtains and adding some static film tint. What I am looking for is some fitted screens for the front...

    Abandoned Retail Parking Lots

I currently sleep at an abandoned retail lot. I got "the knock" the third night, but once the cops ran my id they just told me to be careful. They were pretty cool about the whole thing. It seems like a decent spot, close to a Home Depot(1 mile), a Lowes(2 miles), a WalMart(same parking lot as...

Where to park while converting your vehicle?

I am doing my conversion little by little in a lowes parking lot under a shade tree. No one has said anything so far.

The whole van is white. I have lived in Florida for 20 years, I am not crazy enough to own a dark vehicle here LOL

    Van Dwelling in Florida

Hello, my name is Ron. I am 55 and recently divorced. Kids are in college and the company I worked for for 10 years just went out of business. Time for a new phase in my life. I love Florida and want to really explore it. I bought an old E150 with a 4.9 I6 engine. I am kind of starting on a shoe...

    battery and inverter

I know that eventually I need to go to a deep cycle battery, but how long would a 700 CCA battery last running some LED lights, a small fan and charging a laptop every so often? I have that battery just laying around so it is basically free.
