Uhhh ohhh did I get too thick of metal flooring?

I would go with bigger heavy duty tires then the ones that came stock with it , you should be fine. Any decent tire shop should be able to recommend what to go with.

    Staying Cool

Portable swamp cooler ( wont work in the humid months).  Freeze plastic soda bottles full of water throw them in an ice chest , leave it open and use a small battery operated fan to circulate a cool breeze. Spend some time @ the nearest mall.

Before you buy... Defective air bag inflator

No one is going to tell you this . Especially not the dealers. Almost every vehicle  brand was affected, but not every model. A lot of vehicles on the road have a potential hand grenade in the cockpit. Takata the air bag manufacture went bankrupt. The list of cars and years kept growing last...

Best engine/chassis combo for diy mechanic?

Whatever you are comfortable with. You can never go wrong with a van. The maintenance you perform will be the deciding factor. U-haul use's mainly Fords and run them to death and resell's them again. Some people never do any maintenance at all. Those are the ones on the side of the road with...

    Casey Front Hitch

Try looking for a universal front hitch. Instead of a vehicle specific one.  Stuff like is better left to the pro's. Big safety and liability concerns with a homemade one.

    Great tip for all vechicles

    (1) You missed this part " I do not do products endorsement, so use what ever your pocketbook can afford." I said I used something similar to that product. (2) I was referring to the aluminum heat sink, not the glue on the processors. (3) Try it, don't try it I could careless.

I like it fine, beats busting your head open... Actually I auto adjusted to it and don't even notice it. Unless I am driving or sleeping , I spend no time in it.

    Considering this van

Take a cl rideshare out to where the van is and drive it back. The collision could not have been too bad, as the insurance would have totaled it if the cost exceed the value. Make sure it does not have a salvage title.

    1972 ford camper van listing

If it has a mustang engine then it has been replaced.  Hopefully the 351 Windsor mated to a C-6. It would be a good choice. i love the Cleveland but parts are getting scarce.

    Discouraged.

Keep it as simple as you want. No wrong way or right way to do it. I was living in and traveling in vans before solar was invented. Ever thought about hitching on with someone else and pooling resources? Bet there are a lot of lonely people on the road. You just got to find one, motherly type...

Quigley Motors makes 4x4 vans, authorized by Ford, with a factory warranty. They will also convert used vans starting at 2010 models. I heard they were expanding to GM and Nissan products but don't know if they ever did...

    Great tip for all vechicles

No. the proof is in the PC you are using, the heat sink is glued to the processor and they get hot almost 200 degrees. In the old days we used to glue nickels to them to cool them off.
