How quickly things change !

What nice things you say Patrick46. It makes the transition much easier, knowing people can relate, and are pulling for you. I now hope my upcoming build thread will help others. It will most likely be quite a bit different than most, but that is what makes this thing so interesting !

The Conversion of "Freedom" , our permanent bus home...

    Hi cygvan,

I only know the batteries crank the bus easily. But other than that, I do not know exactly to tell just what I have.

And for pressure washing ... The white paint seems to be poor quality house paint, maybe even latex. I do not want to strip of the yellow, as it seems to...

The Conversion of "Freedom" , our permanent bus home...

Realizing I am going to be completely converting a bus into our permanent home, I decided to do a VERY in-depth build thread. Hopefully it can help someone else, as new and lost feeling as I was/am LOL.

My final goal ? To make a bus be just as comfortable and beautiful, as...

So uhh ... when people talk about just putting foam board directly onto the bus's existing floor, are they speaking of over the green tile, or pulling the green stuff up ? Thanks !

    How quickly things change !

Hello everyone ! I have some wonderful news this evening. I have been trying to figure out my battery solution for my bus's electricity. I was looking at a couple of BIG 8D batteries, but man what high prices ! So when I went to snap some photos of my bus to share with you, I took a...

    How quickly things change !

Wow ... This thread really took off ! Thank you everyone. It did get quickly cluttered, as my excitement and anxiety hit overdrive LOL. But now I am calmer and ready to start work on my project. So I went back and selected questions which I have not been able to answer yet. I figured...

Now here is the really good news Willy ... I have TONS of great tools. All I need to do anything I want to, and the construction, elec, and plumbing experience to do all of the work ... Even the welding.

Now here is an interesting question ... I think. My bus door does not seem sealed very well at all any more. I would like to remove this door, frame it out, and add a regular door from Home Depot, which would be a cheap aluminum and glass door, with a screen. But I do not know if a door...

OK .... The electrical is decided. I will go with a generator charging a quad of T105 6V batteries. If what I have read is correct, this SHOULD give me all I need for all of our electrical.

If I can find a free school bus, I plan on raising the roof on mine. How high is safe to go, and...

    How quickly things change !

OK ... having done a lot of reading, I do not think solar power will be practical for us. We get very little sunlight at all where we are moving to. So now I am thinking deep cell batteries, charged with a generator.

Hi Patrick46 .... Man I would just LOVE to do this ! My only concern is this : Would it still be rigid and safe for traveling ? I would think it would create flex for sure.

Ah hah ! Thanks Wagoneer. The reason it seems so cold there, is indeed due to the ever present moisture. It gets down to about 38 - 40 at the coldest in my experiences. And when it is moist, that will seem like 20 degrees ! LOL

So I am not at all sure exactly what I will need...

I see I am still using waaaay too long descriptions when I google ! I tried for over an hour, and did not get these results. I must get better at computers LOL. And no I am not joking ... I am really bad with computer research. A dinosaur in modern times.

And this probably needs a post of it's own. My disability comes from a horribly bad right ankle, which no amount of Dr.s or specialists have been able to find anything wrong with, even though it has badly misformed by now. And the driving position of my body, legs, and ankle is KILLING me while...
