On my way to Quartzite - where to buy solar?

Now that is slick, hadn't seen one of those units before...….What's a ballpark price?

On my way to Quartzite - where to buy solar?

My first inclination would be to modify an existing set of gutter clamp racks to suit your purpose. Welding is the killer, lots of amps and I'm not sure if I could run even a small wire feed off of my Onan genset.....I'll look into that Thanks highdesertranger, I could use some pointing in the...

On my way to Quartzite - where to buy solar?

Sounds good to me, I'm the mechanic/welder/fabricator type but know only enough about electronics to know I don't know enough...…..

On my way to Quartzite - where to buy solar?

He must be psychic - I no sooner finish posting this question here when I go to YouTube and guess who has just posted a video on the best place to buy solar? That's right - Bob. I would still like to hear from others but man, it just figures.

On my way to Quartzite - where to buy solar?

Hi all, been a while since I've been on here, hope all are well. I am currently in north central Wisconsin finishing up potato harvest and will be heading to Quartzite AZ. on or around the 21st of this month. I have been camped at the very nice Vista Royalle campground in Bancroft WI. for almost...

    Cat veranda Mk. 1

Well, my house sold much faster than I had anticipated which resulted in my having to be off the property last Thursday with a long list of unfinished items for the RV, top of that list being an enclosure for my cats to go outside securely. I found a campground 10 minutes from my house in the...

    Leash training cats......hopefully

Do you guys recommend a harness or collar? They get locked in every night before dusk here at the house and they will be on the road too. Going to build an enclosure that will mount to the side of my rig that will allow them to be outdoors, but not roam freely.

Well done Gary, that Netboy page is full of great ideas. The water tank access port is just what I was looking for. Thanks a lot, Rick

    Leash training cats......hopefully

Hi. I am going to be moving into my RV and hitting the road at the end of this month. I will be bringing my two cats, Dick, who is around four years old and Morgan who is over fifteen. Both have always been indoor/outdoor cats and come and go as they please. This will of course not be the case...

Tying solar to existing 12v/120 wiring

John, the reason it wasn't clear to you is because I was incorrect in my assumption that the house battery would be charged through the transfer switch by the genset when running and therefore be a point to tie in to the 12v system. That does not appear to be the case, the 12v side is...

Cleaning my skanky fresh water tank

I like the idea of scrubbing followed by the bleach treatment. I'm going to have to figure out the best way to fasten/seal an access cover.

Tying solar to existing 12v/120 wiring

Here is how I envision the wiring being laid out. Lets see if I'm getting this straight: Solar panel output to MPPT controller input MPPT controller output to battery bank Battery bank out to 2000w pure sine wave inverter Battery bank out to 12V terminals for house battery on existing...

Tying solar to existing 12v/120 wiring

Hi John. What I think I mean by solar inverter is the unit that converts 12 volts DC from the battery bank to 110 AC, would that be considered a transformer?

Cleaning my skanky fresh water tank

I have what I believe to be a 30 or 40 gallon fresh water tank mounted in the rear of my RV under the bed which has a disturbing amount of some unidentified black substance adhering to the sides of said tank. Does anyone have an effective method for cleaning these tanks? Thanks, Rick

Tying solar to existing 12v/120 wiring

Thanks to all for your input on this subject. I don't intend to run anything other than my laptop, phone charger, TV, water pump and lights off of the solar. Sounds as though my best course of action at present would be to tie just the 12V side and leave the 110 side as it is with an independent...
