Would you be comfortable overnighting on a road like this?

A few more from the aforementioned side street. Yeah, these people have been here a while, and I will definitely not be joining them.

Would you be comfortable overnighting on a road like this?

I doubt this is an issue of just poverty. More likely drug addiction and mental illness. The area around these rigs is no better than most homeless encampments you see along freeways and under bridges. Turns out there's a side street off this one, with 10X as many rundown RV's on it. The...

Would you be comfortable overnighting on a road like this?

Fremont, Calif. There's a Walmart right around the corner that usually has big-rigs in the lot, but I don't know (yet) if that means they allow overnight parking. I'm not sure I'd want to park there, even if they allowed it. About a month ago, some idiots set a fire in the sporting goods...

Would you be comfortable overnighting on a road like this?

Some of the RV's are in OK shape, but others suggest a really dysfunctional life. Just look at the dashboard and roof of this wreck. I shudder to think what the rest of the interior looks like.

Would you be comfortable overnighting on a road like this?

Yeah, I wasn't really going to park there. I just wondered if some of you might think it was just business as usual when sleeping on a public street in an industrial area. Any time I see garbage piling up around an old RV, I know the occupants likely don't have both oars in the water and...

Would you be comfortable overnighting on a road like this?

I found this street near my work and was hoping to overnight on it a few evenings a week. Problem is, there's more than just big-rigs parked on it. There's also a fairly large number of beat up, run down RV's, vans and converted bread trucks and U-Haul's. The street also parallels RR tracks...

    Cheap Chinese LifeP04 batteries?

I stand corrected.  It appears that it's not the battery after all, but the charger that was the issue.   I just received my NOCO Genius-10 tonight, and it works just as it should when charging the $400, 100 Amp/Hr. LiFeP04 I got from Amazon.   The Genius-5 does just fine when charging my AGM...

    Cheap Chinese LifeP04 batteries?

Actually, this issue happened right out of the box.  And yes, I know it's the price you pay for being too cheap.  :P I knew going in that there was a good chance the battery would be crap, but the $900, American made, alternative was just too expensive for my intended purpose:  Running a...

What is The Most Fuel Efficient Cargo Van?

The best I ever got out of my 2010 Ford Transit Connect, was 26mpg on the highway with my cruise control on at 65mph. I don't live in my tiny van. Way too small for that! It's just for camping and road trips.

    Cheap Chinese LifeP04 batteries?

Do you have to open the battery case to install the 4s balancer?  NOCO is suggesting that the BMS in my AmpereTime is tripping a relay due to a cell, or cells, being out of balance.   They suggest I simply leave the charger connected until the problem solves itself, but that isn't happening...

    Cheap Chinese LifeP04 batteries?

I got one of the Amazon / Ampere Time 100 Amp/Hr LiFeP04 units a couple of months ago, and while it seems to be performing properly, I'm having a strange issue when charging it with my NOCO Genius-5.  As the battery nears full charge (13.7V +/-), the Power light and the blue, Lithium light...

    Shenanigans - My Transit Tardis

Yeah they did.  I'd have upgraded my 2010 TC to a newer model by now if they hadn't lost their minds and made it a regular mini van.   To the original OP.  Interesting looking top.  Curious what it's done to the MPG's now that the aerodynamics have been lost.

    RIP highdesertranger

Oh damn, that's terrible news. I'm so sorry to hear this! I never met him, but his advise and helpful posts were always appreciated and enjoyed.

    Can I run a 24V / 3.75A CPAP off my 75A/hr AGM?

Sorry, that's SD card, not SIM card.   :P

    Can I run a 24V / 3.75A CPAP off my 75A/hr AGM?

Exactly.  My old, 12V model was just a pump with a SIM card to save data.   The new one has no card, but instead uses cellular data to keep track.  I even have an app on my phone so I can check it.   I get that it's convenient and means I don't have to go to Kaiser to get my annual printout for...

    Can I run a 24V / 3.75A CPAP off my 75A/hr AGM?

80 vs 90?  That's it?  Weird.  I usually run the 12V 6-7 hours a night, then the van and its 200W panel sit in the sun all day, then I run it again the following night.   I usually do this 5 nights in a row.  4+ years later, and the battery seems to be doing fine, though admittedly the system...

    Can I run a 24V / 3.75A CPAP off my 75A/hr AGM?

Hmmmm.  That makes it sound as if I can't run it.   I just checked the old 12V system I've been running in my van for the last 4 years, and it shows 12V / 6.67A. I've been running that 12V CPAP off my 75 A/Hr. AGM for years without a problem.   What am I missing?  (Sorry, I can be a little...

    Can I run a 24V / 3.75A CPAP off my 75A/hr AGM?

For the longest time I’ve had a 12 V CPAP machine, and I’ve had no issues running it off the 75 A/Hr AGM battery in my little van. (I’d run a larger battery, but this is a tiny little van, and there just isn’t much room in here. A 75 Amp Hour AGM is the biggest I could fit under the hood)...

How few Watts of solar to charge a 55 Amp/Hr AGM in 5 days?

Thanks for the link, but jimindenver says 2:1 is needed and I have a 55 Amp/Hr battery.     :-/ I currently run a 200W panel, through a 30A MPPT CC, to the 75 Amp/Hr AGM I have in my van (on SternWake's advice), and it works great.   I've been running it since 2015, and it's still going...

How few Watts of solar to charge a 55 Amp/Hr AGM in 5 days?

Paranoia, mostly.   :P I have a little, 16' sailboat that I keep in a dry storage yard at the local marina, and while the yard is gated and has lights, security cameras and guards, I'm not super comfy leaving an expensive solar panel sitting out in the open all the time.   It's not the sort of...
