Hurricane Irma. Are you in its path?

We successfully bugged out from Ft. Myers on Wed. 9/7 at night and drove to Cordele, GA. The trip up I-75 wasn't bad until we got to Ocala, then it was a mess. No gas anywhere in that area, but was able to fill the diesel, and DW's gasser Jeep got topped off just before we got there, so we...

    Unexpected Maiden Voyage

Brad, waiting until Thursday may be cutting it a bit close. I'm leaving out of Ft. Myers to head up I-75 to GA, and I moved my plans up to leave Wed. evening. Where you heading to?

Hurricane Irma. Are you in its path?

I'm in Ft. Myers. Rode out Charley & Wilma. Bugging out for this one. Heading up to KOA campground in Condele, GA for a week. Have two IP cameras set up in the house to monitor remotely. I got a bad feeling about this one.

    Puppy?

My DW was explaining to me about how they "bob" the ears and tail of a Miniature Schnauzer. Dummy me! I thought they just grew that way. I was so outraged when I heard that - I was really pissed! I couldn't believe someone would snip their ears and tails simply for cosmetic reasons. She...

    How to Prevent Trailer Theft?

This is a company from my boating world that makes some serious locks and chains.   http://www.1st-chainsupply.com/chain/security_maxx/security-chain-3-8/index.htm#padlock If they want it bad enough, they're going to get it.  My job is to make it as unpleasant as possible, to get them to give...

    Puppy?

We just got a Miniature Schnauzer puppy.  He's pretty much house broken at this point.  We set up a tiny bell at the top of the stairs, and installed a temporary gate.  He's learned to ring the bell when he has to go potty. The bigger concern was making sure that he learned to come when called...

For those that do take a firearm with you...

My favorite by far is my 1911 (actually my favorite 3) but my go-to is my CZ-75B in .40 cal. It is probably the perfect round, and the CZ is extremely reliable. It's a full-frame that I can comfortably conceal carry, but unfortunately it's "iffy" in many states. Here in FL it's not a problem...

Is a Honda generator worth the price?

While I'm not somebody who only looks at price, I have looked at this one from Harbor Freight and have been quite impressed with it.  The reviews of it are all 5 stars.  And at $700 for a 3,500 watt inverter generator it's definitely worth a look:

    "A Florida man...."

You got that right! Funny, when I bought it I wanted a diesel "just in case" I might get a bigger boat (sounds like a line out of a movie, doesn't it?) never imagining that I'd be here today. If I went with a gasser, I might not have even gotten a TT at all. Fate.....

For those that do take a firearm with you...

I keep the Ithaca M37 Defense shotgun in the trailer/truck when we travel.  Can go to all 48 states and Canada with it.    Use 3" magnum 00 Buckshot, 8-shot 12-gauge.

    "A Florida man...."

FNG from Florida here.  Found this site by watching Bob's YouTube videos.  I think they're great. After much research we purchased a 2016 Grand Design Reflections 313RLTS TT.  Towing it with a 2016 Nissan Titan XD SL diesel w/Cummins 5.0 V8.  Fully loaded we're just within the limits of the...
