Starting conversion on Ram ProMaster 2500

Thanks for your input :) I'm in the process of selling my home and minimizing everything (moving sale today).  I have the ProMaster in my driveway ready to start the process as I get to my retirement date.  Just wondering if there is  anyone in my neck of the woods that I can contact if need...

Starting conversion on Ram ProMaster 2500

I just bought a Ram ProMaster 2500.  I currently live in Indiana and will be retiring soon and hitting the road this November. I am disabled and will be traveling with my service dog. I know it's best to build the basics and as you go customize to one's needs.  In order to get me started - does...

    Dogs and snakes

Thanks for the advice you all.  Cindi - I took note of the link you gave :)  Although my dog is usually by my side I could see him innocently sniffing right up to a rattler and then "bang" what a way to learn to avoid - I don't know if it I want to take that risk.  ???

    Dogs and snakes

Has anyone taken your dog to that training Bob Wells referred to that trains your dog to avoid snakes?

I'm taking the plunge - retiring the Fall of 2019

Either one I'm open to - but since I use a walker I would it easily accessible to store it behind the driver's seat when I get out of the driver's door = a sliding door would make it easier mobility-wise.   I'll be shopping around for the best option this summer. :)

I'm taking the plunge - retiring the Fall of 2019

Thanks Cammalu for the encouragement and the offer for camping - might take you up on that when this van-life is my reality.  Yes - the more I think about it a high-top van with dual sliding doors would be best for my situation - just how that will come together is the question, but I am...

I'm taking the plunge - retiring the Fall of 2019

Thanks for the insulation details and adjustment details judyg!!! This is what I need in thinking thru what is best for me and Ollie.  My youngest son said "Mom - you need a van that you can stand up in".  He's right - despite my desire to be flexible and go... I should get a van with a high-top...

I'm taking the plunge - retiring the Fall of 2019

Hi travelaround - thank you for your reply - I envy you and wish you well - I wish my departing date was right around the corner - like yours :)   Yes - my first choice is buying a cargo van and build it out as I go.  My bookaboo is that I won't have the $ or time to do a build out until I sell...

I'm taking the plunge - retiring the Fall of 2019

Hello fellow van/car/RV dwellers  :) I haven't posted for awhile because life happens - family, work and resting this ol' body - one has to focus on priorities.  Now that my slate is clearing - I'm minimalizing and making plans to sell my home and retire this Fall of 2019.  I'm a primitive...

I introduce to you Ollie.  He takes after his dad, a big standard poodle.  Ollie just kept growing. He's a lover

2 years to go before retiring...

Thanks for the welcome!  I plan to stick around - read, learn, think, plan and downsize... I drive a Suzuki Grand Vitara - mini SUV - contemplating how to customize my needs to get my feet wet - with my golden-doodle tagging along... and then who knows... ;)

2 years to go before retiring...

I just bid farewell to my youngest - off to Basic, AIT and then to college.  I have 2 years until I can draw full retirement - but I'm not your typical retiree.  My plan is to work 2 more years and prep to downsize.  I do primitive camping whenever I can and just love being in nature - it's...
