It's ALIVE! Or why are life lessons such a PITA

3M 5200 is.designed for use below the water line of boats. As I understand it this is the go to calk for boaters, skoolie converters, and RV mechanics. The self leveling stuff is a close second. I am comfortable with my decision to use it.and recomending it. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

It's ALIVE! Or why are life lessons such a PITA

The portable charger works well on the starter batteries and they have been charging all afternoon while I worked on the bus. I tried using the USB ports on the charger for a while but they pretty clearly consumed more energy than was being produced. Not clear if they were draining the starter...

    Eclipse August 21

This is one of my major plans for.being on the road. If weather lools like it won't cooperate I will gp somewhere else. If I have to park by the side of the damn road I'm gonna get a good view. Glasses and.camera filter are already ordered. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

North East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone (NY?)?

Sad to say I will NOT be making it umless something crazy happens. I ended up having demo the factory interior and am having to lay a floor, insulate the roof, and panel. I am sad and disapointed as I wanted a first destination with otjer vanlifers for moral and technical support. I will be...

    And Yet Another Question.

If you are using just one panel a PWM is probably the way to go. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

It's ALIVE! Or why are life lessons such a PITA

More and more every day. This mini system means I don't have to replace my starters NOW! I can leave them be and charhe them while I sit. It also means that I can run my medical equipment on a solar geni of it's own. I can travel away from my rig with a complete system that I can litteraly carry...

It's ALIVE! Or why are life lessons such a PITA

This is why I prototype my projects. I've slowly been reading and learning and collecting gear for my solar projects. Project #1 is now complete except for an extra cable run for setting the panel outside away from my rig. Wasted 1/2 a dozen MC4 connectors but it works now. 40watt poly...

    BobBski 2017..

I bought a set of the older Ryobis piece by piece and just a few of the new One+ models that I couldn't find used. All Ryobi 18v tools are backwards and forwards compatible so ALL of the tools work with all of the batteries. In fact the first gen tools when used with the new Lithium batteries...

The As Of Yet Unnamed bus

Much progress over the last two days. The holes in the roof are patched, the maxxair fan is installed, and.thw solar panels are on the roof. The polyiso for the floor and ceiling have been acquired and install begins tomorrow after a run to the dump and home depot. More parts for the solar...

    Insulating floor

I did see subflooring that had a T&G along the long side. It was very rough and would be hard to finish. I want to limit thickness on the floor to preserve what little head room I have and I will be losing 2+ inches with the floor and the ceiling.  I'm liking the pocket holes but may not have...

    Insulating floor

I have a shorty bus, Ford E450, 22 feet... I think. 14 feet from behind the driver and 13 feet from the door well. Bus is 7.5 feet wide. I will NOT be taking up all of the rubber floor and the rails that are used to anchor the benches. I will be using two benches for a dinnette and they must...

The As Of Yet Unnamed bus

After much delay and hard work ... Today the damage to the roof was repaired. Hammered out with a buddy that does body work. Me inside with a "dolly" a hand held sort of anvil for him to hammer against. Then we simply patched with 16 gauge steel, riveted and sealed with 5200 marine silicone...

Complete booster set up for under $200

Thank you very much! I think I may need to return mine. The USB port on the side does not power on to charge anything. No current when tested with multimeter. I also sort of though these things have a power switch. Mine has a little hole where I thought it should be but there is no switch.

    Lost & Found

$6,000 in cash sealed in a deposit bag sitting in the middle of the road. Turned out to be the entrance fees for a local Boys and Girls club flag football tourney. I gave it back. They gave me $100 reward and my boss then also knew that I was honest to a fault even when no one else would know it.

Complete booster set up for under $200

I've had the gear for a few days now and have had some time to play with it. So far I am not terribly impressed. I'm starting to wonder if my booster is no good. 1) The booster cradle gets pretty hot, especially if my phone is clipped in and running as a hotspot. 2) I'm not seeing much in the...

    Stealth grey water emptying?

To add to the above if in a dry area you could.use.this as an evaporative cooling system. I do plan to double use some water, for instance shower/bathe then do first wash/soak for laundry. 1-2 gallon shower then add 1 gallon hot and soap to 5 gallon bucket and wash clothes. Rinse with lots of...

Why a Prius Dweller in the Van Forum? (long)

Have you considered an AWD Honda Element. You can even get a pop-top hard top tent to go on top. Hard roof for solar and or storage box. Able to have a tow hitch. I've even seen people remove or swivel the passenger seat. My other thought would be a smaller van/larger minivan. If you can find...

    Stealth grey water emptying?

Which is why as a child I learned to cook away from tents and to carry away and pitch dishwater away from camp. Food and boots in a tent will send me into conniptions. I grew up van camping, cannoe camping, and back country backpacking. I know the rules. Car campers still must do dishes. Dish...
