Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh !

We did more work on the YAKery ........Adding wires and MC4 connectors to the solar controller....Mark's Solar Panels have arrived !

View attachment 33510

Here you see the battery.........Inverter and ciggy/USB plugs......the cut-away box for plug access

View attachment 33511

And the Solar Controller and access panel on this side.........Fuses and bus-bars hide beneath

It's HEAVY !

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.................................
Very cool. So this will pop right into his vehicle whenever he gets one?

^Well it could but the components were always intended to be mounted in the vehicle............He had purchased most of the stuff before the van died......I just added the Bits and Box.......This gets him "More Powa" in his tent

Fiji has easier acess to the sea than Quartzsite where there are only land yatchs and the “dinghy” you tow behind a land yacht has wheels. But at least there is a Yacht Club.
Tecopa, California has a "yacht club", the only nearby water is where the mostly underground Amargosa River surfaces near Tecopa. The river also surfaces just south of Beatty, NV. I suspect the yacht club maybe more of a social club. They do maintain a Weather Underground PWS, "Tecopa Yacht Club - KCASHOSH2", that I access to download weather data for that area.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood................Sunny 70's

We fix anything............an old Sterno stove appeared this week.........

Sterno1.jpg

Here it is reassembled

Sterno repair.jpg

The metal tabs were broken............a little stainless steel wire did the trick

Sterno folded.jpg

It even folds flat again for storage !

More Forum(s) members are expected in camp this week............The WRTR is happening and RTR starts next weekend........................The Big Tent is up...............................Arrrrrrgh

My wife Paulette is an avid Crocheter .............a HOOKER.............Today she finished a blanket for Jason

View attachment 33509

She loves these challenging patterns..........this one is a Tunisian style crochet

And a great job!

I now have plenty of power for my laptop!

And yes, it is HEAVY (mostly because of the battery).

Ahhhhhh..................... its a dark and gloomy day in Pirate Camp

Rain is about to happen and we've battened down the supplies

DEW arrived and survived for a couple days....a stomach bug cut short his trip......See Ya Later !
We've seen worse.........the paramedics hauled Denise out of the forest in California one time.......camping can be dangerous

You KNOW it's a bad day when this guy arrives.........................

Bus on the hook.jpg

This is Deb's bus........I put in battery disconnects while in Pahrump......Bad Alternator..........Finally got Worse
(The ordered parts are wrong so she's spending a Holiday weekend in Q in the repair lot...................)

ARC.jpg

Seems when the bus was OFF the Alternator w/bad diodes was drawing from the battery
..............dropping 70+ volts A/C on the wiring.........that's quite an ARC !

We'll finish with a peek at Mark's humble abode

Mark Home.jpg

He's making the Best of a tough situation.......a HOWA tent and his solar are rockin' it

Arrrrrrrrrrgh

Deb’s bus had an unfortunately inexperienced previous owner doing it some bodily harm. Too bad as it is a nice sized vehicle for a comfortable living space.

It's a little damp here today............another rainy RTR !

Scott arrived earlier this week.....GypsyDogs/Anna arrives today.....

You better Hurry........the Desert is filling up !

Arrrrrgh

Is this Seattle? I am feeling a bit confused about my location. Nope, I see cactus outside, guess it’s not Seattle after all.

Reminds me of an early spring day in Seattle. Gray and rainy off and on. If this actually was Seattle, I'd be thinking about planting peas and lettuce or about a short day hike. Here, everyone (including me) is huddling in their vehicles as if this was an actual stormy day.

I have to laugh. It's all about context.
