Do the propane sellers let customers fill the tanks themselves?
I saw a film clip of the vehicle burning, and it was parked on the street. It was a mini-van. I am quite sure, from personal experience, that The RV Pit Stop does not allow customers to fill their propane tanks. I am wondering whether he was trying to refill the 1-lb green cylinders from a regular tank he had just had refilled?

Or maybe the fire had nothing to do with propane? It's very frustrating that Quartzsite police / fire do not have a public log...

I am an AZ resident and have only had propane tanks filled by a "trained" attendant, whether it's a portable tank for the grill, or the tank that is integrated with my motorhome. I've never seen or heard of a self-service propane station here. :)

Weather... I have found this guy to have good long term outlooks on things...

Oh boy, is the RTR going to be washed out by rain or storms?

Man, I hope some of that rain makes it into Lake Mead.

I leave in the morning for Quartzsite. Are Y'all at La Posa South?

Long trip to get there but once I am there I will be all like ... I'm here for the Party (like a pirate?)!

Nice dinner tonight with fire and music.. good grub Doug and all..

39° in the forecast tonight...

If you want to party at La Posa South join the Facebook page “Lit Cactus”. It has even been added to Google maps to make it a searchable destination. They party once or more a week with big campfires and music. It is not all that far away from Pirate Camp.

"Morgenmuffel"...

WHO POSTED MY PICTURE?!!! WHO? IM GONNA SUE...! 😋

Well every now and then we do a little work...........The Samvan came via a facebook request for HELP

These folks had a Bed front-to-back.....they needed it built-in side-to-side.....The original bed had about 20-2x3 wobbly-legs.............it's a conversion van......they had already removed the plastic trim.....now they were left with the cold bare steel walls or the exposed rear HVAC unit

It took over an hour for them to remove EVERYTHING..............THEN we secured the loose wiring and hoses with tie wraps.........we used heat-shrink to terminate the wires to the mid-cabin electric couch....(cut the wires short and melt a section of heat shrink....OVERHANGING the cut end a fraction.....then tuck under the carpet ) ..........Added a fixed USB port to replace the existing one

Owner sweat-equity Vacuum !!!!!!

Added two "pony" walls.....one alongside the HVAC.........One fit over the wheelwell.........constructed of 2x3 frames faced in plywood..............the area behind the walls got stuffed with insulation and taped.............Long 2x2 and 2x3's are screwed to the support walls
Samvan 1.jpg Samvan 2.jpg

We added the original plywood on top and stapled it all together............Stapled a little Blanket/upholstery between the bed and the windows.................This is their start !

I tried but could NOT remove those floor plates

The strong bed....... No legs storage is exactly what they were after............Arrrrrgh !

Thanks Randy AKA RandomPaintedHighway

I seriously doubt that "ALL" of us CRVL folks are in the same spot. But YARC / Pirate camp is at La Posa South. When do you think you'll get here?
I should arrive January 12th unless I am delayed for some reason. This will be my first RTR.

My wife made me promise to ask for help setting up the Caravan tent due to my disabilities. I told her it's supposed to be a one man job but she insists.

Last night there was a bike Vs car in 95 around the North wash entrance and the person hit died at the scene. Two versions of the story are going around. In another connected event, a 11 yr old boy was reported missing on a bike. Last word form some was that is was the boy who was hit, but some were still saying it was a woman.

Deeply tragic stuff... the driver of the vehicle was reported to be loosing it badly... as I would in their shoes...

In your own way, give a moment of thought for all involved.

Daring to head out there..... one of the reasons I am out here doing this is having the courage to do so. Selling almost everything I own and leaving the life I have led for a jump off the cliff is quite a thing...

Barry did this a few years ago.... a bold thing...

Fiji has easier acess to the sea than Quartzsite where there are only land yatchs and the “dinghy” you tow behind a land yacht has wheels. But at least there is a Yacht Club.

She loves these challenging patterns..........this one is a Tunisian style crochet

We did more work on the YAKery ........Adding wires and MC4 connectors to the solar controller....Mark's Solar Panels have arrived !

Yakery1.jpg

Here you see the battery.........Inverter and ciggy/USB plugs......the cut-away box for plug access

Yakery2.jpg

And the Solar Controller and access panel on this side.........Fuses and bus-bars hide beneath

It's HEAVY !

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.................................

Good Morning Campers!
