Noticed you mentioned parking in a family members driveway? Can you grab power there? Having stealth solar for you doesn't sound like an issue if you are parking in the driveway. With a bit of solar you might be able to always keep your portable power station charged. What kind of vehicle are you in? Lots of good folks here to help you with a solar setup if you are interested, but really what ever works for you!
I appreciate your advice. Thank you.
Living in the city full time with a portable peer station, , should be s breeze keeping it powered up. Fits perfectly in my gym bag.
I’m excited and scared.
Rent is so crazy here and I’ve a huge Van payment to boot…
I’m going to make this work !!!

It's very easy! I'm soon to be 68 and 6 years ago I lived in a camper van for 2 and 1/2 years I did get solar because of a friend installed it for me but I did very well without it. I did not require a refrigerator, I am the queen of drive-throughs! I also had a little dog, but I was with her and she with me all the time. Don't break up with your girlfriend and have fun! I found it so liberating and I want to go back to that lifestyle now! Never should have sold my Tank!

Can a single guy live comfortably without Solar ?
I’ll be a city dweller , and work at a grocery store four days a week. So I feel my food situation is not an issue.
I use battery operated string of lights in the evening. I park at the beach , I shower at the gym , I think I can do this.
My mail goes to a best friends home , if I need entertainment I’ve my IPad for movies.
Can I get by with a Ecoflow for powering my blender and coffee in the morning ?
Without hooking up a fuse box thingy ?
Get the minimal 200watt solar kit from Bluetti and get out of the vicinity of any metro area asap. That way your van can be totally stealth using the foldable Bluetti solar panels. Any real food supply chain problem for even a few weeks, and the metro golems will turn cannibal. Go total ultraminimal so that your vehicle can bear the weight of sufficient water as well as food. I have 6 months food and 2 months of water in the minivan at all times. Prepare for the worst now, while you still can.

I appreciate your support , I’ve just unboxed my power source and will be testing it out on the household appliances I’ll have with me. I still have a few months before the interior of my tiny home is completed. 🙏

Sure. I make the case for it in this article.

An ecoflow or similar is fine, assuming you have a way to charge it. The usual way is by solar, but we've already ruled that out.

In this scenario apartment amenities like blender and coffeemaker are driving the purchase of a solar generator for $hundreds or even $thousands. Are those appliances worth that much to you, or could you use a hand mixer and a propane stove for coffee and pocket the other $800 or whatever?

I purchased the Ecoflow delta mini today. Excited 😊
The biggest (pretty much only) disadvantage of the EcoFlow power stations was battery chemistry. They addressed this issue in their top of the line Delta Pro, but at $3400 it is beyond most folks budget. Today, EcoFlow announced the release of the Delta 2, bringing LiFePO4 to their $1000 power station.

If it is not too late, I'd suggest returning the Mini and getting the Delta 2.

Thanks , very helpful

Since you work at a grocery store, does it have a deli where breakfast & lunch foods (and perhaps dinner entree's) are offered. If there is a microwave in the break-room there you could have food before work or afterwards. Lunch, while on your break.

If you have a small cooler in your rig and a small tote-able cooler you could carry like a lunch box then you could possibly tote some of those blue plastic freezer blocks to work and store them in a freezer while you're working. (in the back of the store) Transport them back and forth to your rig's larger cooler so you could have refrigeration at the rig.

You could buy bottled water and drink some from each bottle and freeze them at work until you find some freeze blocks. Get a plastic container to make Solar Tea while at work so you can have iced Tea when you get home.

End of summer these things will be on sale reduced.

If there is a Hospital near by sometimes they have reasonable priced meals. (not all of them though).

Excited that you’re thinking everything I’ve thought of. Great minds ❤️

portability is something I need. But I’ll check into it. Thanks

I bought one of these hand crank blenders 20 years ago for about $40. Goes for $170 now on Amazon. Works very well, can even crush ice. The pitcher is plastic but has held up well. Check eBay and the usual suspects for lower prices.
That blender is so cool. Boy is that website expensive, though. Except for the food. Their Mountain House products cost less than at Walmart and Amazon.

What will you do with your pooch while you're at work?
.
We workkamp a small organic teaching farm near the outskirts of Eugene, Oregon.
I turn 71 in a few weeks.
As I slither merrily into my dotage, I get off-track worse than ever.
Accordingly, I take at least one dog in the truck with me as I putter.
I rely on them for supervision... "Supervisors, load up!"
.
Alternately, the supervisors are known as "Heathens!" and "Short-Bus!"... and "Window-Lickers!".
The dogs are OK with pretty much anything.
Lesson there.

Love your ideas 🙏

How true ! :) Even when it comes to shopping. I found a pull string operated blender at Walmart back when they were $5 bucks. If you packed one of these along to work you could process some food items to prep when you got back to your rig. Then you could clean it up at work for the return home. The processed food stuff could be placed in those Deli-containers. This way it all works on your own horse power.

With this you could produce egg salad, ham salad, pimento cheese, tuna salad, and other sandwich makings.
