Hi,
I know that we are all trying very hard to minimize the use of plastic bags. I think we can all agree that if you have something small, like a half of an onion or something, putting it in a much larger tupperware type container doesn't do much to keep it fresh. You need to keep the "extra" air to a minimum.

I was using regular ziplock type bags and reusing them when possible, but they're pretty pricey.

I found "bread bags" at a local grocery store, and they seem to fit a need. They are very thin plastic, and come with zip ties (which as a guy I never use....) they are one size fit all, but because they are so thin and pliable you can squeeze them down to the size you need, spin 'em around a few times, and you have a great seal. They will fit some things that don't really store well any other way, especially if you are short of space. I use them for leftover everything.

Keep small tubs when you use the contents. Like a yogurt cup with lid. Little containers are very very useful for a while. I use a ton of small containers then when I feel it is time for them to go, throw out and continue using any other small container you purchased. I have a never ending amt of smaller containers for use. I also use all my plastic bags if I can as I purchase them and empty them. Why not? paid for them already, why keep buying pricey bags when we already have purchased bags? Save money and reuse.

FWIW, a Chobani yogurt tub fits about 1/2 of a Ben and Jerry's ice cream pint, and the ice cream container cover fits nice and snug over the yogurt tub.

So you can save half your ice cream and, you know, go back 20 minutes later and gobble up the rest of it ;)
