I lived for 3 years in Medicine Lake in the "Great White North". Honestly was glad to get away from the winters. Every year, someone wouldn't get his fishhouse off the ice in time and his truck would end tail up in the air when they broke through trying to drag it off bad ice...

My favorite thing is rescuing dogs that venture out on fresh thin ice and can’t get back in.
So yeah, cities... Esom, I hope you’ll Visit the forum often. Many good builders here. Wish I was... it gets pretty impressive some of the “builds”. I’m still seeking the perfect thing for myself. So meanwhile I built a truck camper to get me by... haha.

Before EPA, they used to park an old car out on the ice over the Mississippi River, or a local lake, and sell dated tickets. If the car went through on your date, you win a prize.

I remember that they passed local ordinances requiring ice houses be removed by a certain date each Spring.
