Thinking of trying out van living

I recommend you avoid the translucent fiberglass roof. Some of these box-vans will have a partially translucent roof, (one or two panels) that's ok, but a full fiberglass roof will eventually need to be replaced depending on it's age. If you get a good deal on a box-van that is otherwise a...

    Tips on replacing Fridge, please?

Oh ok...park model. Stationary. Ok then you can disregard the fridge and door securement tips but having a non-digital fridge means one less digital device subject to failure during power surges and spikes.

    Tips on replacing Fridge, please?

Good advice above, and I did exactly this on my old class A when the absorption fridge cooling unit finally rusted out and failed. Your best solution is to choose a fridge that has a mechanical thermostat ONLY, no digital controls, and if you plan on powering the fridge in transit or on solar...

I like what you did with the flip-up sides and mesh screens for airflow. Hmmm......

Honda used soy-based insulation on its wiring harnesses on some vehicles and got sued for it. Turns out, rodents love that stuff.

How soon will electric or hybrid vans/RVs be common?

Your crystal ball needs a tune-up, me thinks. Coal is expected to keep powering America way past 2050. Yes, it is expected to decline somewhat, but we still have a LOT of it and after all, it's American Made Energy, unlike some of our other sources of energy...

    When was the forum sold?

This entire post is just my opinion, and not based on any cold hard facts. But here it is: We used to field a lot more nuts-n-bolts type questions from newbies....how to wire up batteries and solar panels and charge controllers, what gauge wire to use, fridge questions, etc. Also, questions...

How soon will electric or hybrid vans/RVs be common?

Did they get all the battery fire recalls worked thru? Bolts were involved in a few spontaneous fires...I hope they have been able to correct this issue. They had a software update which reduced charge limit to 80%...which is a bandaid, not a fix. Good luck and let us know.

How soon will electric or hybrid vans/RVs be common?

This thread has recently evoked a lot of angst (pro and con) and thats not the way we want to do things here. Lets see if we can keep the topic focused on electric RVs and E-Vans and the availability and affordability for the average person or couple who might be interested in buying one. We...

How soon will electric or hybrid vans/RVs be common?

There will be room on our highways and in our garages (metaphorically speaking) for both ICE and EV modes of transportation for many more years. Each one will have its pros and cons, and I very much like that we will have MORE choice of what we'd like to own and drive. Pick the right tool for...
