    Windows, yea or nea?

When I'm camped, I like not having any windows except up front. When I'm driving, I hate it. If I want some sunshine I'll open the doors and/or step outside.  Still living in a house for now; I hardly ever open the window shades anyway.

Planning to become a Digital Nomad

Where are you finding these plans? Sprint alone wants $115 a month, and throttles down to 2G speeds after 30GB.

Planning to become a Digital Nomad

Actually I wasn't thinking about it... I am now...  I work for a small company. They might be open to me moving my desktop computer from my server rack to theirs, and remoting into that. Sadly it would be the best computer they have. It's also probably more powerful than most laptops; I'm not...

Planning to become a Digital Nomad

I'm married with no kids (present or future). My wife has some but they don't live with us, so she goes and visits them from time to time. Work has prevented me from going with her to a lot of the places she wants to go, but not for long.  I'm asking her to live in exactly the opposite way from...

    Chargers, converters, etc.

I totally said this wrong. I meant the charger/converter goes between the battery bank and the power source. I've read that some people have run power directly to their batteries from the power source, and that seemed dangerous. No regulation etc.

    Chargers, converters, etc.

I don't want to have to worry about acid gas venting into the living area. Don't they also hold up to deeper cycles (50%)?

    Chargers, converters, etc.

I'm planning to have solar, but as a backup, I want to be able to charge the house batteries off a generator or shore power. I'm sure that plugging them directly into the batteries would be dangerous, so something needs to go in between to make sure the batteries are being charged at a safe...

OnStar: Unlimited 4G LTE @$20/mo. Verizon or AT&T depending on equipment.

OnStar claims to offer a wifi hotspot. Plans are $5/250MB/day, $150/20GB/year, or $20/unlimited/month. The equipment is built into "Most Model Year 2015, 2016 and 2017 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles" but can be purchased and maybe installed in others as well. The $20/month is in...

BLM: Deep sand, tight spaces, hills, and scouting

I went out this weekend to do some boondocking in some BLM land near Moab and Dinosaur NM. Some of these areas don't have Street View and only barely show you anything on satellite. Turns out some of the roads were pretty rough, even though they look perfectly safe from space. Two of them near...
