I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

By most of the time I didn't mean throttling, has to do with the towers. Verizon towers it works fine on, but some times Verizon is using towers they don't own, and some of those won't work with visible. I have been a couple of places where phones on Verizon work but visible won't. It doesn't...

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

I have had visible for several years now. Works most of the time. No data caps in aware of, I routinely hit 100 gb a month of usage. It is in Verizon backbone.

Oh wow, I want to do this at the LTVA.

    Slab City

IMHO there are a lot of really cool people there, it is an interesting and often fun place. It also has a lot of really bad people there that are bad news strung out on heroin and meth. You piss off the wrong person there and they will burn your rig to the ground, or worse. If you really want...

    Catalytic Heaters

I have 2 vintage Olympians in 2 rigs, both going strong 10+ years. Everything tx2sturgis said is spot on. On both of mine I have a fresh air inlet just below the heater, as they consume oxygen + very minimal carbon Monoxide. With a good air inlet they burn extremely clean. You should have a...

Best used Prius (or equivalent brand) for dwelling?

Prius V wagons, a lot more space than all the other models. They are collectable now so can be expensive.

    Tires

I'd get AT's for the boondocking and sand. Coopers are inexpensive and work well. Traction boards haven't been all that great for me on 2wd vehicles. Airing down your tires when on soft surfaces helps a lot, just need a good air pump to reinflate tires after you get back to hardtop.

Starlink - The Movie - Is Starlink Any Good? Good For Nomads?? From a Nomad using 6 months.

I absolutely love Starlink. It is a huge change in the dynamics of boondocking. Almost anywhere to have high speed internet and phone service via the internet is amazing. No worries of being isolated with no cell service. Yes it can be shared with all campmates (if you trust them to not do...

    Leaving cones/“claiming a spot” boondocking NF/BLM

cheapie tent and chair works well. Plus tent can be used to store a few items when camped.

    Looking for my future

I have to add, I was a lot more shy when I started. I found most travelers to be a lot less judgemental and much more friendly than the general population. Walking around and talking over time I've found I am now an outgoing person.

Question: Should you use fob to flash lights?

Yes I'd use the fob, not the lights but the honking horn if yours has that. Be prepared to quick drive off too.

Minimum needed to live in an RV?

If you intend to stealth camp in cities a trailer will not work. A minivan is the ideal stealth rig in a city, but they suck to live in. If you have a steady fixed income why would you want to camp in a city?

Minimum needed to live in an RV?

CRVs have almost no tow capacity (1500 lbs). About the only rv trailer that it could tow would be a 13' Scamp which is 1200-1500 lbs. Or maybe some of the pop up tent trailers, but those are not good for permanent living. I would not use a crv to tow.

Minimum needed to live in an RV?

900 is enough to get by. Living frugally he can meet some good people and enjoy life. I'd suggest a small, self contained rv trailer towed by a reliable truck. That way if the vehicle eventually has repairs too expensive for him he can always put the trailer in a cheap rv park. Almost everyone...

Is it okay to even have a pet as you age?

Adopt a dog, there are plenty of dogs that need a human to love them, lots out there that were loved by their previous human that died. They need your love just like you need theirs. It had been my experience that if you pass unexpectedly someone will take over loving your pet too.
