    Where should I go?

Hey everyone! Got a little vacation coming up, and I want to head south to get out of the cold weather. Ideally I'd like to go somewhere where it's 1) somewhat warm, 2) somewhere where there's cliffs or high vantage points or something, and 3) within a couple days driving distance from OH. Any...

Best battery for full-time boondocking: LiFePO4

Wouldn't lithium batts still off gas? One advantage to AGM is that they're sealed and can be used in confined spaces. So wouldn't this still make an AGM the better choice when it comes to living in a vehicle?

    Buddy vs. Olympian

Hey everyone! So, I've been researching different heaters, and now I'm faced with paralysis by analysis. So I'm polling the audience, so to speak. Things to keep in mind: - I'm in a Toyota Previa minivan. Very short on space, but that means I don't really need a big heater to heat things up. -...

    Propane safety questions.

Thanks, highdesert. So are we talking "should be done" as in, I'll get sick or die if I don't? Or is that a "should be done" as in, just playing it safe? ;)

    Propane safety questions.

So am I to understand that your propane tank should be in a vented box as well? I know the area you're heating usually has to be vented for oxygen flow, but is it safe to just have your propane tank sitting there?

    Venting your heater

Thanks for the info so far, everyone! Just wanted to add that my home is a minivan (Toyota Previa) so I really don't need much to heat this small space. But my space is also very limited, so I'm looking for a small heater. Also, with it being such a small space, it's really easy to loose all...

    Venting your heater

Hey everyone! Here in the midwest it's starting to get cold so I'm now looking for a heater for my van. I know the Mr. Buddy heater comes highly recommended around here, but my question is... Do you have to vent this heater? Is there such a thing as a propane heater you DON'T have to vent? If...

Keeping windows open in the rain

Hey everyone! Sorry if this thread is in the wrong spot. Mods, feel free to move it if necessary. I'm looking for a good, inexpensive solution to keeping windows open in the rain. My vehicle is a mini van, so the back windows are the are the pop-out vent style. I actually really like these...

    Cheap electrical set-up

Ok, so as far as starting off with a cheap setup, I've decided to go with one 12v battery. I'll likely kill it prematurely while I get the hang of all this, but it's better to do that then kill a pair of Rolls Surrettes due to lack of knowledge. :) So I'm figuring a good "marine" battery is...

Teach me how to calculate power consumption

Wow! Thanks for the great info, everyone! I'm learning so much here! Y'all make moving into a vehicle a lot less daunting. :) Stern, sorry about the confusion. Here's the DC sysmbol I'm referring too. I can't actually type it out...

    Baby steps

What's up everyone! I just wanted to share my first ever DIY fix. When I got my van, the 12v outlet didn't work. I took it to pep boys and they said it'd be 50 bucks to do an "electrical evaluation." So i decided instead to diagnose the problem myself and try and fix it myself. And here you can...
