The author Scott D. Covey has published two books in the genre of… Bloody boring right? Ok, so a little something real about me. I have two nicknames. I have published two books, and I've lived in several different countries. I retired from Canadian Government Service in Security/Protection and public safety (Law Enforcement but not RCMP) To my closest of friends it is Captain, and to some others it is Nobody. I got the Captain nickname because if something exploded, caught fire, or crashed I had a plan. Stress from traumatic events just never seemed to have the same impact on me as it did others. I got Nobody for probably the same reason. Nobody would do that. Nobody is stupid enough to try that. Nobody could survive that. This same brain chemistry, or wiring, that made me less susceptible to stress also affected my fear response. So I wasn’t an overtly brave child, kid, and now person, but, I have lived through some incredible situations. Situations that a normally wired person would have never found themselves in.
I truly believe that experiences are far more important in life than stuff. I have had more than my fair share of cool stuff and yet during those times mentioned above I never once thought about my cool car. It was the memories of times shared with friends, family, and even enemies that flooded back to me.
