    Kayaks

We've had this one for many years. It's always such a pain in the you-know-what to inflate, deflate, dry, fold, and fit back into the bag, that we typically leave it home. It's very hard to get any speed in the water with my wife and I paddling. Cheaper than hard-sided, definitely. To do it...

    24/7 Chat About Anything

Are there My DW just expressed this concern to me yesterday. She is worried that if we undertake some longer-term road trips, she would not know what to do with herself. Her main hobby is gardening, which is not very travel compatible. It seems to me that winter in new and different warm...

    Suboverland

So I've had my Suboverland-sourced Yukon XL Denali for a little over 4 months now. With the price increases on his builds, plus the awful exchange rate on the Canadian Dollar, I opted to just get the "base" vehicle plus a mattress. So that was a little disappointing. But after 5000 miles, I'd...

    Box for Propane Tank

It depends. If the tank is stored on its side when the relief valve opens, it can ice up very fast, and ice can lock the valve open. As a propane retailer, I used to hate filling the RV tanks because you had to fill them with the bleeder open and wait until liquid came out. Instant frostbite...

    Box for Propane Tank

Just wanted to share a recent experience, not with propane, but with CO2, thankfully. I had my beer keg's CO2 tank refilled, and I brought it home. It was warmer indoors than the store where it was (over)filled. A few hours later -- BOOM, the relief valve opened. The entire basement was...

Motorcycle to use as a "toad" with van

Old tech in the sense that there aren't fancy features like selectable driving profiles, cruise control, and probably no ABS. But it's liquid cooled, electric start, and you can replace the air filter without removing the gas tank, unlike my V-Strom..

Motorcycle to use as a "toad" with van

I've thought about this too, and I think 400cc is probably the sweet spot for hitch weight, power at highway speed, and not being too heavy off-road. Like a Suzuki DR-Z400S. 317lbs. https://www.suzuki.ca/product/2021-dr-z400s/

    Easy Coffee drinks??

First day with the AeroPress and I am LOVING it. It brews superior coffee, takes up very little space, and cleanup could not be easier. Thanks @Calaverasgrande for the recommendation.

    Want opinion on budget spreadsheet

Vehicle Maintenance like oil changes, brakes, and less frequent items like tires can be averaged into your budget too. Aside from food, you will probably need to buy T.P., and hygiene products.

    Easy Coffee drinks??

Same here. As a gadget geek, I really wanted to love the Moka pot I bought. But it always tasted way too bitter. I'm going to check out the AeroPress that was mentioned. There's no way I can take my Saeco Aroma espresso machine on the road.

    Any thoughts on crock pots?

I think with raw meat, you'd be better off not mixing. Put the meat at the bottom layer so it gets the heat treatment first and any microbes have less time to multiply.

    Reverse mortgages

You might need less money than you think if you consider an older 2500-series tow vehicle for your cargo trailer. It could be just as reliable (or even more so) than a newer truck. And certainly cheaper.

    Reverse mortgages

reason #3492 not to have cable. I didn't need to know that poor Magnum was doing this!
