Help! Collective opinion on van purchase...?

I'm planning on stripping it anyway to install insulation, sound deadening and a vinyl floor on top. It's a blank canvas :-)

Help! Collective opinion on van purchase...?

This is posted on Craigslist ..any opinions? I love the idea of having a longer wheel base for more living space. Does anyone know anything about this model/yr? Your collective wisdom, as always, is enormously appreciated! :D

Temporary Car-Dwelling in a Pontiac Sunfire oh my

Spent the night tonight parked in a mutually shared lot between a Fairfield Inn and a Cracker Barrel. No security noticeably checking lot for "guests only parking", well-lit, not too crowded but full enuf to help me blend in, feels safe. Near highway so rather noisy but I listen to books on my...

    Home base idea

Hmmm I know pole bldgs don't usually require permits to build simply bcuz they are not "dwellings" ...well, except for 4-legged friends etc. over the years I've often thot of doing something similar but actually living in the pole bldg while I built a slipform stone house. Now that I'm going to...

    Best toilet options?

The only part about the gamma lids I wouldn't like is the fact they aren't easy to open. Many of the food-grade buckets I worked with in the restaurant world had this type of lid and u had to have a special tool to open them. Aside from that, they seriously seal whatever's inside!

    I want help

Wow. So hard to say without having known you and your family for a long time. My ex has a very different version of our life together than the version I have. I guess what I'm saying is the old adage that it takes two, neither are innocent, and there are two sides to this. However, you have...

Your favorite smart phone apps (travel related)

Hi, my name is Nancy, and I'm a smartphone junky. There, I admitted it, now it's out in the open and I don't have to hide in shame any further! Lol Seriously love my iPhone5...and all my previous ones...and yes I was one of the idiots that bought the original back in 2007(?) and paid $600 for...

I have $20 and a half tank of gas

Will I get glared at if I suggest emergency food stamps? I mean this is the exact reason we pay all those taxes. You might as well get the benefit you've been paying into. That's what it's there for, for times just just like this when you need a helping hand. My first choice would be local...

Ideas on how to lock cargo van doors from the inside.

I'm gonna install a chain lock (like they used to have on hotel doors?) but I'm gonna use a much bigger chain and a heavy duty carabiner instead of the slider thingy, and not so loose. Just enough slack to be able to clip on the carabiner to secure it. Cheap and easy extra measure of security.

    Recliner VS Bed for sleeping

I've slept in a recliner almost every night for nearly 2yrs now...I think it all depends on the recliner. Mine is big and folds back almost flat and it's very comfortable. My back never hurts when I sleep in it. In fact, I've often considered foregoing the bed-build for my van in lieu of my good...

I've heard of people making insulated "walls" for them. I'm sure u can find directions and/or other solutions if you google around a bit. Try www.popupportal.com and search for their winter camping pages :-)
