    $950.80 is the minimum Social Security payment with 30 years of qualified THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I am 62 and have worked since I was 15. My monthly SS amount will be just over $780 before they take out Medicare when the time comes.

    I sure hope you’re right! I’m not yet 65 so all I know at this point is what my SS amount is. Worked since I was 15 years old and this is what I end up with. Thank you for the information. I’m very grateful to you for taking the time to post it.

    Same here friend. $700 and change BEFORE they take out Medicare! It’s not possible to live on it. Can’t even survive on it.

    Lap desk anyone?

    I bought one exactly like what WalkaboutTed is describing here -- for $10 at Walmart.  Hard table top, with a pillow mounted under it. (The pillow part can be removed - velcro - but I love that aspect of it.)
