I looked over some of his tutorials as I found his claims about temp and humidity a little far fetched. Then I backed up one folder and went to some of his other links. http://pdxweb.com/vandweller/ This person is an internet "snake oil" salesman. I think indirect swamp cooler can be made...
Never heard of "indirect" swamp cooler. I visited the website and looked over the info. I have seen similar systems work in NC but that was only because they had an endless source of very COLD water from a mountain stream. Overcoming the higher humidity levels we have in N. Georgia can maybe...
Ditto what Brian said about visible. I use them as my travel network. They use Verizon towers and the speeds depending on location and traffic on the tower are comparable to my home cable network and all for $25 on the party plan. No contract. They do have a Lousy website and I keep hearing...
Yikes!!! Just checked the price on those fasteners. Ridiculous! 1" wide barstock 1/8"thick, threaded rod and a welder would be cheaper.
But I'm getting lazier. Here's a 10% coupon. "TENOFFVT"
I tried the elevator bolts like Brian suggested at first but the square part on the bolt didn't provide enough grip (rounds out with little pressure)
Had trouble getting fasteners. This morning I go back to vantech's website and find exactly what I was looking for. The way life goes...
Yes, I watch his videos occasionally and it seems he has moved to N. Georgia and is in the process of clearing some property for future van builds. I live relatively close and may see if I can volunteer in the future. Watch his youtube channel on youtube for the latest. Enigmatic Nomadic
But...
I reread your OP and to answer this question need to know the brand and model of these batteries to know what the manufacturer recommends to keep these batteries happy and to get the longest life out of them. (Great gift by the way). For instance when I bought my Odyssey batteries I read the...
Bandaidqueen,
Could I make a suggestion. I would do a temporary wiring job on the swamp cooler to see how it performs. The reason I say that is I believe you are in the Atlanta area. I live slightly NfE of there and with the humidity levels we have, I would really be surprised if it worked...
Congrats, I've got a 2000 sienna with approx 290k miles. Original owner, keep the oil changed and the occasional timing belt. The original valve covers are real bad about leaking oil. Changed mine at about 150k and still have a clean engine. Great for traveling cause of good gas mileage. ...
To others looking for the answer to the OP question.
I also remembered going to the dealer service manager several years ago and asked if my vehicle had the EPM system (gm's electrical power management system) which is the "black box system" that makes your alternater "smart". The only...
My non smart alternator puts out between 13.9 volts and 15 volts depending on the charge of the starter battery. If yours drops to 12.5v and higher than 15.5v it's probably smart alt as mentioned in video.
Riptorn, I ran into the same question about my alternator a couple of years ago. (2012 gmc 2500 w/105 amp alt)
I installed a Sterling BB1260 dc to dc battery charger.
I determined my alt was not a smart alt after viewing this video.
I determined also that 105 amps was not enough alt so I...
From the manual on your batteries:
Temperature Compensation
Temperature compensation is not needed with our batteries and in some cases, may trigger the built in BMS to go into protect mode. For this reason, we recommend that temperature compensation be shut off or set to 0.
