I've been trying to get out of the Concrete Jungle and back to Nature since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, but stuck in the Jungle, I was. Although disgruntled by the concrete, I was able to follow society's formula for being a "productive member" until my body decided not to participate as I entered my late teens.
So, now, 20+ years later, with my one child launched and my income not-enough-to-live-on, I wonder if just as "disabled" means differently-abled, maybe my health issues are leading me to my long-term dream of getting out of the Jungle!!?
I'll find out!
I started following Bob's You Tube channel and that of others late 2016 and felt such relief and curiosity to have found a desirable solution to my living predicament. As of August 2017, I had downsized and planned to research, purchase, and begin building out a van.
And then Hurricane Harvey happened the last days of August, the very days my surgery was scheduled and I lost my car and residence.
I had major surgery 2 months ago, so I'm significantly behind schedule due to post-surgery recovery and post-Hurricane challenges.
Anyyyywayyyyy, my dawg and I are currently on a long road trip, with an undetermined number of days' layover at my friend's place in Colorado.
Accomplished:
- I have confirmed that I definitely need a high top added.
- Getting some minor warranty (internal trim) repairs done
Vehicle:
- 2016 GMC Savana 2500 Cargo Van, 27,000 miles
- Purchased January 2018
Seeking a MENTOR!
- Answers for my 4wd conversion questions so I can proceed or blow that idea off. Time-sensitive.
- 4wd conversion company recommendations
(I know of Quigley. Are there others?)
- High Top company recommendation
(I know of Fiberine. Are there others?)
- Physical help building out van...insulation, finishing panels, solar install, fan install,...
- Knowledgeable person(s) to ask questions of
