How to store bags of poo until you can dump them at a trash receptacle?

I have found that woodchips/mulch works great to absorb odors and mess. I have a camping toilet seat designed to fit a 5 gallon bucket and keep another bucket of mulch to cover my waste. I don't bother trying to separate #1 and #2. The bucket is stored with a press on lid when not in use. I...

Hello Bill! Fellow Kentuckian. Not sure what part you are at but up north just across the river from Cincinnati there is a place called Devou Park. It may be a good spot for your trial expeditions. It's large for a public park and has a variety of shelters/picnic areas with grills and a few...

Wanted: Short Term Rental Garage for Van Conversion in the Northeast USA

I wrote above because that's kind of what I do since getting my van. One person I do mechanics on his work trucks and odd jobs, he lets me stay at his shop and use electric - he's basically a friend of mine now but also pays me. Another person I'm a paid worker helping grow vegetables part...

Wanted: Short Term Rental Garage for Van Conversion in the Northeast USA

It seems like a good amount of van dwellers are in the city - for good reason...if you dont own property it's full of resources! But it also seems costly, and loaded with restrictions. Out in rural USA there are so many old barns and large swaths of property w/ essentially no rules...it might...

    Custom Vans - what happened?

My opinion on the matter is that the appeal of a van to a lot of people these days is that of functionality. Meaning, they might not have a surplus of income, and/or spare time apart from just trying to eat, keep clean, work, and pay whatever essential bills they may have. Therefore a simple...

    Tools and Weight

Ok from my phone seems like pics work! Hope it helps some others in a search for multi-task vehicle considering a service box van...Old and used like this one comes with downsides, like a few leaks, and creaks lol but it works for me. Hard to capture the entirety of the inside in pics. I've seen...

Well I'm having trouble posting pics...but anyways it's a 12' Supreme Spartan service box on a 2005 E350...All tool stuff in the exterior boxes and all living stuff inside! ...The design makes for nice full length counter tops inside both sides, and plenty of stand-up/walk around/table/bed room.

Pic of the inside is before I got to work making living quarters...it's obviously different now So I can live in it, but the blank canvas gives you an idea of how spacious and easy it is to design living space inside with all the "gear" out of the way tucked in to exterior boxes. I wouldn't have...

    City boondocking...?

Like bullfrog said, gym membership like PF - last time I looked into it around $40/month and suburban/urban areas have 3 or 4 within 1 hr drive from each other, often 24 hrs. Walk on the treadmill watching some tv and take a hot shower, and thoughtful shuffling of parking spots and bouncing...

Need a Generator? We Can Help.

Just wanted to add some info/opinion on the topic of small generators. Small/medium wattage generator/inverters are available that run off of propane. There are a lot of benefits to this type of unit over a gasoline powered unit if you start to think about it :)

Keeping warm in sub-freezing weather, using only a tiny amount of fuel for heat.

No mention yet of a tiny wood burner? My GF has one that she bought online, installed in her camper...it's pretty nice and she tiled the walls around it. Also, a person could build a small rocket stove if they are handy, and even add some mass to it for more/longer term broader heating ability...

Like minds that don't think I'm crazy

The cool part is that "crazy" is a great defining term that can be added into any phrase of any story...so make "crazy" your own way (which hopefully isn't a lonesome depressive state, and more along the lines of "crazy" in love!) the best you can each day. Even if it's just some friendly...

    Hi there

I feel ya on the living preference. I had a house too...but I spent a lot of time instead in my project 77 Dodge 4x4 ambulance in the driveway, that I never got finished. All was sold and now have more projects with no house :) I'd like to see pics of the utility 4x4!

Hello 05 E350 12' Spartan service box here

Yes 12' box is right about the size where having a full size side door would be nice, at least there's barn doors on this and I can secure the non-latching side w/ a bungee to have an OK single rear door operation. I have a heavy duty 20' box trailer as well with the big sliding door that's...
