    Georgia insurance denials

My van is a passenger van. Conversions I did in no way will affect performance or safety (no one travels in the back). I didn't inform insurance company of any alterations. None of their business. Van was insured as passenger van, not rv.

    Choices

Making the bed in short top van was the only time I really found it to be a problem. I got good a "organizing" the blankets to be tidy when I got out of bed. I had a stool with a pillow that I sat on to cook at kitchen counter and do internet stuff on laptop. I turned out not to be a big deal...

    INFLUENCE

The Danish guy from website Early Retirement Extreme. He was a huge influence and inspiration. One thing that always stuck with me is he always tried to ask himself: "How can this problem be solved without spending money?" Fix it yourself, entertainment with friends, exercise without gym, borrow...

    Passenger or Cargo Van?

I have a passenger van. Love the windows! I got them tinted and don't use curtains. (I'm not city-stealthing) People can't see inside. I feel safer being able to easily see what's going on around me. I also really like waking up and seeing the outdoors all around me! I took seats out using a...

Nomad vs Sticks and Bricks Dollars and Sense!

Wow, no need to get defensive about your choices, I was just offering up my (heartfelt, personal, honest) experiences.

Nomad vs Sticks and Bricks Dollars and Sense!

I recently took a break from nomading for 8 months because the idea of not having a home -- a home base, a place to land, my own space to be indoors, a regular bed and kitchen, a physical community--all of that, was starting to freak me out. I felt like I was just wandering around. I was getting...

    Seasonal Campsites

Wow, my ears perked! Where, if you feel free to disclose, is such a low cost mountain town? I am loving nomading, but sometimes feel a bit of a twinge for a true home base when I might be frail or just wanting the same view everyday :)

    Traveling with a Purpose

Day Dreamer, what a gift to see your post this morning, as I was having similar feelings. To read someone else express them eased a bit of anxiety for me. I notice that much of your post was laced with the word "feeling" and that is what is going on here. Some feelings of unease. So, I want to...

    Moab gathering

Yup! Thanks for the heads up. Have been making a list for Home Depot in Farmington. Moving my bed around, mostly just cutting down some 4x4's.

    Moab gathering

I am close to Farmington now, hope to be somewhere between Bluff and Monticello in a week or less. Any nomad company would be welcome. Hoping to do a quick in-the-field van build re-do with my portable makita tools.

    Retired and thinking travel trailer

I have a 19 foot A frame (Forest River Rockwood, Highwall). I recommend it! Its easy to tow because the walls fold down into a 'camper-trailer' but when its up, its really solid. I camped in wind and snow with it. The high ceiling of the A-frame make it feel really big inside, plus lots of...

    Too Nice

Hate to be harsh but sounds like you were trained to be a girl, takes effort to undo that socialization.

    My Main Fear

Your fears are very common. I think you need some good experiences to 'talk-down' the fear tape in your mind. Bob wrote a really thoughtful essay about fears, you should read it if you haven't already. Basic-do you have a rig set-up that you can get up and leave easily if you feel threatened...

Help... insulating lower part of E250?

When I was insulating My E-350 I filled in the spaces where the curves are with the expandable insulation in a can, in addition to the rigid insulation. It filled in the gaps well. I made a "frame" with strips of wood that the cut insulation fit into. Where there were gaps I sprayed the...
