    Quartzsite LTVA questions

I was never planning to go anywhere until November 2024, as I have other matters to take care of before then. I'll definitely take up your recommendations, though, as I'd be just as excited fishing for goldfish in a bathtub, as long as they're biting. Lol.

    Quartzsite LTVA questions

Boracay, Siargao, Bohol - to name just a few. I'll be there from Nov. 5, 2024 - March 5, 2025, same time period I would have been in Quartzsite. I'm showing costs to be about $8,600 all in. You would be surprised at the number of expats who are happily living abroad on a measly social security...

    Quartzsite LTVA questions

When I first started going down to Florida some years ago I was really surprised how cool the low 70's could feel during winter, when back home those same low 70's would feel like tropical paradise.

    Quartzsite LTVA questions

Umm, the Philippines. Although there are many dialects spoken throughout the country, English is considered the 2nd language and taught in the schools. Quite frankly, it's the main reason I decided to go there; the beauty of their islands being second.

    Quartzsite LTVA questions

I have actually thought about that, except that I want to be somewhere where English is widely spoken and, yet, not a tourist trap. I still want to do Quartzsite but as I just retired last May, sun and warmth (something I thought I'd find in abundance in Quartzsite) is a priority for me right now.

    Quartzsite LTVA questions

Yes, it is, and after watching too many videos of people dressed in heavy jackets and wrapped in blankets, "rainouts," and dust storms due to the high winds, I've decided to switch course and head to the Philippines and do some island hopping in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. (Condos and hotel...

    Quartzsite LTVA questions

I'm preparing to spend about 4 months in Quartzsite next fall/winter, so a couple of questions. I have been watching YT videos about every day and one of the common complaints I'm hearing is about the wind and cold. I am leaving the northeast to go to what I thought would be warmer and sunnier...

Cargo Trailer Conversion - I hope

I recently began to work on laying out my short bed truck to do 2-3 day getaways. As a result of several surgeries and, now, physical limitations, I focused on two things: Portable items, and lightweight. Here are a few pictures just to give you some ideas. I have a Bluetti power station (that...

Is a Pop Up adequate protection from the elements?

Interestingly, I actually added it to my Amazon Shopping List last night. Thanks.

Is a Pop Up adequate protection from the elements?

I thank you all and, particularly, maki2 for such a generous offer. Unfortunately, I won't be in that area until next November. Just doing my planning and prep now so that I don't leave anything to chance and don't find myself delayed due to a lack of preparation. maki2, the idea of fashioning...

Is a Pop Up adequate protection from the elements?

Thank you both for your responses. I am not concerned about the weather, in general. I once camped with this same camper through a tropical storm in 60mph winds and was perfectly fine. But, because the panels don't seal I was just curious if there was something more I could/should do to keep the...

Is a Pop Up adequate protection from the elements?

I am contemplating going out to the Quartzsite area next November - March and staying at one of the LTVA's. I also plan to slip over into Algodones to get some dental work done. Admittedly, I still have some research to do on both of those issues but there seems to be plenty of info online to...

    Van Life

Don't simply learn to speak Spanish - learn, also, to understand it. It's not going to do you much good to learn to ask specific questions without being able to understand the answers you're given.

Anyone familiar with using Renogy Solar Kits?

I always thought current (Amps) is the determining factor in how quickly batteries are charged over power (Watts)?

Effect of antenna height on reception

I started out with the MOHU Sky 60 antenna that I had elevated on a 24 ft (?) fiberglass pole. I now have DISH satellite but also carry something similar to this https://antennadeals.com/HD8008.html as a back up.
