I really don't like to give a lot of detail about my past because I have an almost sordid and frankly pathetic past. However, I have attempted to keep employed as steadily as possible. A recent misadventure did drain my 401(k) account early and my new one won't be worth squat when I retire, but it was only a few thousand dollars anyhow. I have drifted the "down and out" with nothing life in the past a couple times, but not what I'm aspiring to retire to in an RV for which I'm currently starting to save up my pennies.

In my youth I did overstay a welcome with some friends who lived in a converted school bus parked on their small lot of land, and then there's the year I rented a travel trailer set up in its owners front yard as a residence, but that's about the limit to my RV living, other than a couple of times I slept in a car until either it died or my ability to finance it did. My retirement plans are to try and avoid either of those fates with planning and preparation.

And now I'm settling into my retirement camping on my own acre of low value land in the desert.

My van does as an offgrid shelter for now, and hopefully will into the future.
