    My Conversion van.....conversion

I agree with what TMG51 said. What I did in my Promaster City (a mini cargo van) was put in two reversible FanTastic fans with the vent hoods. The idea was that I'd get one pulling in and one pushing out for complete and rapid air circulation in hot weather. It worked like a charm. I've been...

What can you cook in the road pro 12v portable stove?

I cooked a whole chicken last week after seeing this guy's post: http://12vcooking.com/2016/04/22/whole-chicken-cooked-in-the-roadpro-12-volt-portable-stove/ . It worked out great! Been baking hard "boiled" eggs, too, like this dude...

Ram Promaster City Conversion Nearing Completion

Passive Cooling in Action (see photo) As soon as I get everything painting and organized, I'll post photos of the final interior. (Could be a few months. I'm not in a hurry.)

    Secret Shopper or Mystery Shopper

I tried this once, but it didn't work for me at the time. 1. I don't shop much anyway. 2. The kids were young and at home then, so getting around town wasn't easy. I wonder if I could do some of this now while traveling? At least restaurants would be good. I'll look into it. Thanks for posting!

    Food Foraging?

The oven gets to 300 F. According to my reading, summer is the time to be careful with rabbits, and it's still winter, more or less, in Colorado, where I am now. The meat was well cooked (and falling off the bone) when I was done. The roadkill law in Colorado is that you have to call the local...

    Food Foraging?

I just ate my first roadkill the night before last, a rabbit. I wrapped the meat up in foil with spices, potato, and onions, then baked it in my RoadPro Stove for about 3.5 hours. Pretty good. Tasted somewhere between chicken and turkey. I've been wanting to forage for more of my food, and...

    Cargo vs Conversion or Camper

Where I'm camped this second, it's mid-20s with strong wind. I'm comfy in my cargo van with self-installed insulation. Too many windows wouldn't be nearly as efficient; in fact, it'd be downright chilly. So I say: cargo van all the way!

    Fuse sizing advice requested

Thanks for clearing up my basic misunderstanding! Somehow, I got the idea that fuses protected the gadgets. I have such wire guage/amp capacity charts and can take it from here.

    Fuse sizing advice requested

I'm installing a circuit off my battery bank to run two plugs: a standard 12v plug and a plug with two USB ports. I'll have a fuse box between the batteries and the plugs. Three questions: 1a. What size fuse do you recommend for the 12v plug? I'm thinking 15 A, which is what my van's fuse...

    Living Cheap While Broken Down

Thanks for all the great advice, Folks! It's really kind of obvious now that I see the options in print. But at the time, with the surprise and stress of developing events, it was hard to think clearly. Now I have a kind of lodging and transport priority list in my head and lots of alternatives...

    Living Cheap While Broken Down

This is a question for the future rather than today. I want to plan for next time, should such a situation come up again. My van broke down in West Texas. Now I'm in San Angelo, Texas, and my van is parked in a dealer lot while I wait for a part to get shipped in. Daily, I'm blowing money on...
