Reading these posts, for some reason, I thought of septic tanks. They've been around for quite a while, and they're still being installed. People put urine, poop, and all kinds to pharmaceuticals into them.

Normal people don't camp in these places, because they are immediately identified as prospective victims.

I've never tried it in the desert, but I am thinking of digging waste water holes using a San Angelo bar and a posthole digger, about 2 feet deep. Let it absorb into the soil, then just refill with the original soil.

I was following a pickup with a camper shell today, and it was towing a smallish utility trailer. The trailer was weaving back and forth.
I have never seen this problem on the road myself, only in online videos.
